Sophomore Year
The entire school is gathered at the football field for the beginning of the year assembly. Harry is sitting with his friends, well he was sitting behind all his friends.
Harry is baffled. He's known some of the boys sitting in front of him since they were kids, yet there's people who they're talking to who Harry doesn't even know. And Harry, who has been their wing man, the guy who has solved all their relationship problems since sixth grade is sitting behind and watching all the fun.
Harry is also annoyed, because he saved the three rows of seats in front of him so he could also sit with them, but he got shoved on the highest bleacher with an annoying couple next to him that won't stop making out and some guy who smells like wet dog on his other side.
All of them are talking about their football game coming up, most of them are on the junior varsity team or at least keep up with the sport. Harry tried out for the team to try in fit in better but he didn't make it. He also doesn't know anything about football which is probably why he didn't make it on the team.
Harry smiles a bit at a stupid inappropriate joke Liam makes, all the rowdy boys cackle but Harry just smiles, his eyes connecting with blue ones, ones he's never seen before. But just as quick as their eye connect the boy looks back at his friends and Harry is once again reminded he is completely and utterly invisible.
Harry used to not mind being invisible to his friends. They went to a small elementary and middle school so they all stayed close together. But then they started high school and he just became more forgotten. Others replaced him and it made Harry feel like shit. His entire freshman year he spent being the quiet kid in the back of the room who people forgot was even there.
It seems as if the curse followed him to sophomore year also.
