summer before freshman year of college
"Oh god baby!" Harry screeches as Louis drops a box of glasses onto the floor. They both cringe at the sound of breaking glass.
"Fuck." Louis says, looking down at the box. He looks back to Harry, who's laughing behind his hand.
"It's okay Lou." Harry chuckles, grabbing the box. He sets it on the counter to deal with later.
"It's too hot for this shit." Louis says and wipes his forehead. Harry rubs his back comfortingly and softly kisses Louis.
"Why don't you start putting stuff away hm? I'll help everyone bring stuff up." Harry offers. Louis nods, passing Harry to go in the kitchen.
Louis didn't like the heat, always complained about it so Harry figured he'd put the poor boy out of his misery.
By nightfall, they had their tv and couch set up along with a mattress in their bedroom, everything else still in boxes besides a few pots, pans and plates Louis put away.
"I'm so tired, my backs killing me." Harry murmurs, Louis lifts his head off of his shoulder and looks at him with wide eyes.
"Fuck I forgot about your back. I shouldn't have let you carry those boxes." Louis says, eyes filled with sorrow. Harry waves him off.
"It's okay love." Harry says and kisses Louis. Louis pulls back, a frown on his face.
"Let me at least rub your back." Louis says and softly rubs Harry's shoulder. Harry smiles and leans in to kiss him.
"Okay Lou." He says back. Louis stands to go find something to rub Harry's back with as Harry follows, shedding his shirt and laying on his stomach on their mattress.
"Why do you have massage oil babe?" Louis chuckles, straddling Harry back side. Harry turns his face to the side, smiling.
"It was in a perfume set my mom got me." Harry tells him, eyes shutting as Louis softly kissed his upper back.
"Love you." He murmured, pulling back and drizzling the oil. A flowery sent instantly flooded their noses, Louis humming.
"I love when you wear this smell. And that armani cologne." Louis mentions. Harry smiles.
"If only men's cologne came with massage oils." Harry chuckles. Louis smiles, hands pushing up and down Harry's back. He feels a pop and cringes as Harry lets out a sigh.
"Thanks Lou. This is great." Harry says. Louis doesn't say anything as he continues to rub Harry's back. After a few minutes Harry pushes himself up, reaching for Louis.
"C'mere." He says. Louis gets off his back, laying beside Harry. Harry leans in, kissing Louis languidly and making a smile bloom on Louis' face.
"What?" Harry giggles, pushing Louis' hair back. Louis grins.
"I remember when you were so shy, you'd never kiss me first. Or grab my hand first or text me first. You were so scared I wouldn't want you to." Louis mumbles. Harry smiles a bit, looking down.
"I know you don't think you did, but you helped me so much lou. You made me more confident and you helped me find my voice." Harry whispers, stroking the older boys cheek. Louis smiles and softly kisses Harry.
"You helped me too baby. I used to be so scared of my sexuality, seeing you lose so many friends just to be out and proud probably should've scared me but it did the opposite." Louis chuckled. Harry bit his bottom lip, looking at the ring on his finger from where it rested gently on Louis' cheek.
"If only Liam and Zayn could see us now." Harry chuckles. Louis rolls his eyes.
"God they were dicks. I hope they grow up." Louis mumbles, Harry lets out a tired noise of agreement.
"I'll turn off the lights." Louis whispers. When he returns to bed Harry's instantly slides a hand over his stomach, comfortably settling his head on Louis' chest.
"Goodnight Lou. I love you."
"I love you."
