Finding Happiness

Chapter 20

By mid-August, Adeline was much better. Her scars were barely visible and she was no longer a shy girl, that might be Fred and George's loud personalities rubbing off on her.

"I know I'm no use with magic or defending but I could do somethings for the Order. Please Remus, I want to fight against the Dark Lord and against my parents."

"What's going on?" I interrupted, entering the room after eavesdropping.

"I'm trying to convince Remus to let me join the Order. I am of age." Addy replied.

Remus sighed, "You've already been attacked by Death Eaters, do you really think it's wise to go back up against them?"

Addy shrugged, "I want to fight for what's right."

"Spoken like a true warrior."

Remus, Addy and I spun around to see Professor Dumbledore walking into the kitchen followed by Tonks, Mad-Eye and Snape.

"Please Professor, I want to join." Adeline insisted.

"Well you are of age, and you're very brave, I'm sure you'll make an excellent member." Dumbledore smiled.

"But Albus-" Remus began.

"-We need all the help we can get." Dumbledore cut off.

Fred and George apparate into the room, I had suspected they were listening in too, "So can we join?" They asked together.

Dumbledore chuckled, "You'll have to ask your mother."

Fred and George groaned.

"Now pip pop, we're having a quick Order meeting." The Headmaster shooed the twins and I out of the room.

"So unfair." George sulked.

"Come on, let's go upstairs." I pulled the boys upstairs.

"Where are we going?" Fred asked.

"My room."

The boys snickered.

"Not like that!" I laughed, hitting them over the head.

"Do you think they've finished yet?" George groaned, hanging upside down from my bed.

"Who knows. All I know is that my stomach is too hungry." Fred replied, swinging around and around in my desk chair.

I sighed, "Let's go down stairs."

The boys jumped up, Fred a little dizzy, and we hurried downstairs. I expected the kitchen door to be closed and a silence charm put over, but instead it was wide open and I could only see Remus inside, drying the dishes.

"Where is everyone?" Fred asked. Usually most of the Order stayed for dinner after a meeting.

Remus turned around, "They've all been put to a mission."

"Where's Addy?" I asked, peeking into the lounge room; it was empty.

"She said she had to go and lock up her London apartment." Remus replied, putting the plates away with a flick of his wand.

"Oh."

"I'll write as often as I can." I promised the twins.

"Here." George passed me a leather, diary-looking book, "It's quicker than an owl. All you have to do is write to us in this."

"It's not what you're thinking. Don't worry we made it ourselves, it will be going onto our shops shelves soon, we thought you might like to be a tester." Fred added after noticing my doubtful expression.

I sighed. Even though I wasn't at Hogwarts during the time the Chamber of Secrets opened, I still had heard all about Ginny and Voldemort's diary.

"And, when we've finished the conversation, all you have to do is tap your wand to the book and say 'secret'. Then nobody can read it." George said.

I smiled and hugged the twins, "Thank you. I'm so sorry I couldn't make it to see your shop. I will try asking Remus again in the Christmas break. Fred look after Addy for me."

Fred's cheeks turned a slight pink, "I don't know what you're talking about."

I laughed, "Okey dokey."

"I'll - I mean we'll miss you." George stuttered, pulling me into a hug.

I blushed and smiled into his shoulder. Behind him I could see Fred giving me a look that basically said 'If I can't talk about your crush, you can't talk about mine.'

"All aboard!" The conductor shouted from the front of the train.

"Maia!" A familiar voice yelled from the crowd. I turned around and saw Remus rushing towards me, he engulfed me in a hug, "Stay safe. Don't get in too much trouble."

"Don't worry Remus, I'll be fine."

He pulled back smiling, "I know."

The train started to slowly move out of the platform.

"Go!" Shouted George, pushing me gently towards a carriage. I ran to it and managed to jump aboard the train.

"Bye!" I called, waving goodbye to the three people I love most.

They waved goodbye and the train picked up speed. Eventually the platform was out of sight.

Well a shorter chapter than usual, please forgive me. I just felt I should end it there, it was getting pretty boring.
