I woke up when the sun did and when I turned over I could see Harry still sleeping soundly. "Merry Christmas Harry" I kissed the top of his nose but he didn't stir so I lightly shook him. "Harry wake up" and then his eyes shot open "get away from off" he pushed me and because it took me by such a start I fell roughly onto the floor.

"Oh Abby I'm so sorry" he shot off the bed and went beside me as I began to get up. "What the hell was that for?" I got up but I accepted his assistance. "Harry what's the matter?" Harry looked afraid and he was shaking. "Harry...?" I reached out and touched his shoulder.

"Not today Abby, not today..." he grabbed my hand and we walked downstairs but I couldn't help but feel so curious because what was he hiding from me?

---

Christmas was a family affair and we were happy with the little family we had because none of our extended were visiting this year. Harry left late in the evening and he seemed so distant after we spoke this morning and it made me feel... unexplainable. I had decided I needed to clear my head and decided to go for a run.

Shifting I went down to Alyssa lake and simply sat there and looked at my wolves reflection in the clearness of the lake. "Admiring yourself because your life is ruined?" My wolf turned sharply and I could see the dark outline of the person who I so desperately wished was gone...the wolf. Shifting back quickly I faced him and narrowed my eyes "what do you want?" I asked him and he walked towards me slowly "I want you to stop being so stupid and figure it out!" He sounded exasperated and it also sounded like he could snap at any second.

"What the hell do you want!? You told me I'd never figure out your game and now you want me to figure it out! I don't understand how to play" I was screaming and I couldn't help it, it was like this person had spilt personalities and it scared me. He laughed softly and for a spilt second it sounded like he had humanity.

"Like most things in life: things change" he said this like it was obvious and like I was supposed to keep up. "They are lying to you" he suddenly said and they caught me off guard "who!? Who's lying to me?" The wolf cackled and began to walk away in glee "they are lying to you" he reminded me of that Cheshire Cat from Alice in wonderland, the one that keeps telling Alice "we're all mad here".

I sprinted after him. "Tell me! Who's lying to me!" I ran faster and faster and then I felt something on my wrist, a hand coiling around it.

"All of them" and then I felt the cold sharp metal press into my side. "Fu-" I didn't scream I just winced and my knees buckled as the wolf walked in front of me and used the knife to lift up my chin "they are all liars and your lying to yourself if you don't believe me" the sound of his boots against soft grass was the last thing I heard before I meekly stood up.

I couldn't understand it, what's was he playing at?

First things first though: some medical attention.

----

I couldn't go to Ray, he'd tell my parents and that was a multitude of questions I was not prepared to answer. Clutching to my side I made my way to my only other option: Harrison Grace. He had told me once that his parents gave him very basic medical training, stuff abit more advanced than your regular first aid course which included him being able to stitch wounds.

So there I was walking to Harry's house and clutching to the blood stained dress I know was wearing (thank god it was black). Like I said werewolves were rapid healers but the still we sometimes felt was unbearable in injury and right now was one of those times. I knew Harry hid a spare key under one of the flower pots because he was constantly forgetting his keys so that's how I made my way into the house.

It was dark inside and I had assumed that meant Harry was asleep. I tried to get to the stairs but the sudden wave of pain hit me which made my knees buckle and on my way down I had managed to knock over a dark coloured vase which to my luck made a sharp smash on the ground.

Due to my acute hearing I could hear Harry groan and walk downstairs and it bothered me how casual he seemed about the things that go bump in the night. I was on the ground now and I was wincing in pain, could he be any slower? I heard a muffled gasp a few metres away and then Harry's shadow was cast over mine.

"Abby?"

"What? did you think you were the only one who got to get stabbed?"

And that's chapter 41 done! I am hoping to pick up the pace a bit more now and all the secrets the wolf is talking about will come to light and that includes some of Harry's.
