"Seijuuro, you're attending a party tomorrow." Akashi's father sat in his expensive leather chair while gazing over to his son. Akashi was summoned by his father to have a private talk that afternoon.

"Of course, father. When are we going?" His face held no emotion. Although he returned to his normal self, he was unable to reveal his emotions, or otherwise, his father would address him as weak. A business man do not require much service from the emotional category. Or so Akashi thought.

"Not me, you. You are to attend the party tomorrow at 6. Do not fail me."

"That is not an option, the objectives?"

His father smiled lightly and replied, "only one: you are to find yourself a suitable partner."

"For the company? But father, we already have hundreds of business partner's, is there really a need for more?" Akashi inquired. Although he shouldn't be talking back to his father, the amount of meetings, contracts and bills were really starting to take a toll on him, including his father. No matter how much his father had neglected him for the past few years. He still cared and hope that one day, his father would return to his former self, the same father before his mother past away.

"No, Seijuuro. This time, you're going to be communicating with suitable female partners. I hope that by the end of tomorrow night, you would open up to the possibilities of marriage."

Silence

Akashi's eyes widened a fraction of an inch and cocked his head in confusion. "I...don't understand...marriage?" To say he was surprised was an understatement, his father might as well tell him to 'get drunk in a banquet and pole dance with a stranger'.

"What don't you understand? Are you deaf, my boy? I'm getting old and you're not getting any younger. I want to see you happy, at least once...before I go," His father's voice became softer and gentler, something Akashi was unaccustomed to, "Seijuuro, I understand I wasn't the best fatherly figure during your later childhood years. Maybe it was because you remind me of your mother so much. I wanted to forget, forget her so I could move on from the heartbreak I had. But every time I look at you, your hair, your eyes...I couldn't stand it. That's why you I avoided you and expected the best out of everything. It might be too late now but...I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." His voice strayed away from his normal hard, commanding voice. Now, it sounded of a frail man, just so broken from the past.

His father sucked in a deep breath and slowly stood up from his chair and made his way towards his son.

Akashi eyed his father, following his every step.

He came to a halt in front of Akashi and looked at him with his teary eyes. Grasping the back of Akashi's neck, his father pulled him forward and crushed him into a fierce embrace.

Akashi's eyes stung from the tears that were threatening to come out. His lips trembled. He finally had his father back.

"I'm so proud of you...so damn proud." His grip tightened on Akashi as he muffled those words Akashi longed to hear from him. Akashi couldn't hold it in anymore. He returned the hug just as hard, clutching onto his father's back.

"F-father..." He only barely spluttered out those words.

"Enough with the formal referral. Call me what you used to call me."

Akashi silently whispered, "D-dad."

"That's my boy..." Slapping his back, he backed out of the hug and wiped away Akashi's tears.

"No more crying, son. Now man up, you need to prepare for tomorrow. I'll wait for the results. Don't fail me, son."

A genuine smile spread on Akashi's face. "That is not an option."
