Chapter 0.5 - Bruises [Prem X Wad 2]
At the Nursing Office
The nurse was shocked at Wad's condition.
'What happened?'
'Nurse Dao, he got beat up by some other students.'
'Put him slowly on the bed.'
'Prem, you sit on the one across. I'll check on you in a minute.'
She started with Wad's head first. She checked him thoroughly. Thankfully, he didn't have any broken bones. I could see blood on his shirt from the scrapes on his face and forehead.
'Wad, I'm going to help you take off your shirt.'
'Hmm...' he winced in pain when she did.
My eyes went red. Those bastards. He had bruises forming on his back. He had many old scars too. I wondered how he got those. I was going to find those guys and beat them up down. How could they do this to my junior?
Wait...did I just say my junior? P'Dao was already wrapping his ankle with bandage. Looked like a sprain. She cleaned up his cuts and bruises.
'You didn't break any bones. Just your ankle is the big one. Use ice pack for the swelling and pain relief treatment. Cold better than hot. The bruises will take atleast 2 weeks to heal but if you keep icing them regularly, they will heal faster.'
Wad obdiently nodded.
'Prem, let me check you now.'
She looked me over and I just had bruises on my face and forehead. I got a small cut on my arm which P'Dao cleaned up. I was glad I didn't need stitches. I hated needles.
'You too Prem. Ice the bruises on your arms. I'll go get you both your prescriptions.'
Wad was trying to put his shirt back on. My eyes landed on his chest when I felt a bit embarrassed to see him. He looked so flustered trying to figure it out. I could see the eyes furrow which brought a small smile to my face.
I caught myself in time because Wad glanced at me. Maybe because I was staring too intensely at him.
'Wait, that shirt is ripped. Do you have another shirt in your bag?'
Wad looked towards his bag and hesitated.
'Yes...I have one.'
I opened his bag and I looked to him to ask if it's in the plastic bag. He nodded and I opened the bag.
It was his SOTUS training t-shirt. Neatly folded. I smiled inwardly at this discovery. This guy doesn't attend the gatherings but still keeps his shirt with him in his bag...isn't he a cute one?
What the hell? Did I just think cute?
I helped him put his shirt on. It took some maneuvering since he couldn't lift his arms straight from the pain. I caught a glance of his scars on his back but they disappeared under the shirt. Looks like Wad has been in some fights before. It made me curious but I didn't think that right now was the time to ask.
'Thank you P'Prem.' His voice was soft and he looked shy.
'I grabbed a chair and sat down on the side of his bed.
'So, tell me who were those students?'
'I think one of them we played basketball against during the Freshy Games. The others I don't know...maybe his friends...I can't even remember what they looked like now...'
