Yoongi didn't appear back at the apartment that night but Namjoon received a selfie that looked like Jimin had taken it of the two in Yoongi's studio from his phone. He found it funny that Jimin had somehow located a mask and some gloves and had taken to cleaning while Yoongi's back was turned. He hadn't stepped foot in Yoongi's studio in quite a while but he could imagine the look of shame on his face when he let Jimin in if it looked anything like it did last time he was there.
He looked up at the ceiling and felt a bit useless. Hoseok most likely wouldn't come back and Yoongi was sure to stay in his studio. Jungkook was a desperate option but he couldn't quite bring himself to call the younger boy in case he was studying for his midterms and they hadn't ever breached the tutor/student barrier before. He supposed he could read but he had already finished the two books he had found a few days prior and didn't have anything else lined up.
He needed to get out and he figured Jin would be where he always was. Hoseok most likely wouldn't like it but there wasn't a reason to tell him and it wasn't like he was going to Jin's house or anything. Maybe he just needed to pick up some stuff and had stopped by Yoongi's studio so Jin's store was the closest.
A text was sent off to Yoongi telling him he was headed that way and then he was out the door. On the subway he sent a text to Hoseok as well telling he was out of the apartment and Hoseok was welcome back anytime but he didn't expect a response. There were so many couples out wearing matching clothes and he pulled his own coat tighter to himself and wondered if he would ever get the chance to do something sickeningly sweet like that with Hoseok or if he would be condemned to hiding their relationship and denying that it even existed to everyone.
He shook himself out of the stupor and got off at the stop Jimin and Yoongi had taken just an hour prior and walked the same path they did. He thankfully hadn't had to bother with the security guards questions as he had remembered to grab his work badge before leaving but his reluctance to socialize with anyone faded as he heard the commotion raging on the other side of the door. He realized knocking wouldn't be heard so he used his key and the sight that greeted him forced laughter out faster than he thought was possible.
"What are you guys even doing?" It looked like tug-a-war with a sweatshirt. Yoongi had one sleeve wrapped around his arm multiple times and Jimin had the hood and the other arm in both gloved hands and was yelling at Yoongi through his mask. Jimin whipped around to face Namjoon but he kept hold of the sweatshirt.
"He has mice. Mice that lived on top of this sweatshirt. And he," Jimin had to breathe for a moment, "He wants to keep it. He says he knew about the mice and thinks they're awfully cute."
"They are! Haven't you seen all the filters on picture apps these days? Everyone thinks they are cute!" Yoongi looked full of emotion and Namjoon knew eventually Jimin would be the one to cave but he wasn't getting involved. He threw his hands up and went over to the couch that served as Yoongi's bed most nights but before he could sit down Jimin screeched and he froze.
"Don't they chew your cords? They've put holes in this sweatshirt! How do you think they're cute?"
"They are a very nice couple. It's only two of them and they leave most of the time when I'm here or they just don't bother me. It's cold outside, what else am I supposed to do? If I kick them out and take away their sweatshirt than they'll be homeless." Jimin's mouth was wide open and he finally released the sweatshirt.
"You're insane. My boyfriend is insane." He turned around and picked up the trash bag near the door. The place was already clean again as most of the trash was just food wrappers that could be easily picked up but without getting rid of the mice, Jimin felt his job wasn't quite done and Namjoon could see the disdain clearly. He leaned against the couch as Jimin left and eyed Yoongi putting the nest back in it's spot against the far corner away from the door.
"If you ever bring mice to the apartment I'll murder you in your sleep.""They'll stay here. It's not like they're pets. I just don't want them to be cold. He just thinks they're dirty." Yoongi was blushing though and Namjoon could guess why.
"So boyfriends, huh?"
"If it makes him happy I'll agree to any title."
"I know the feeling." Yoongi looked a bit guilty at that because he had always given Namjoon shit for not confessing to his own relationship but he didn't say anything about Hoseok. He probably heard their argument before he left. "He really does like you, Yoongi. Hoseok, I mean. He looks up to you a lot and he has choreographed several of your songs. He's just a bit insecure. Please don't look unkindly on him." A sigh greeted that statement.
"I don't look unkindly on him. I don't look at him at all if I can but it's because he's stringing you along, not because he thinks I'm smoking hot and a challenge to his territory." He was wearing a shit-eating grin and Namjoon mirrored it. Leave it to Yoongi to diffuse the situation before it ever got started. Jimin appeared at the door again.
"Who thinks you're smoking hot?"
"Hoseok."
"I'll beat him up. I know where he dances." He walked over and pulled Yoongi up from his chair so he could take the rag he dug up from somewhere to the desk.
"Jimin, please don't beat up Hoseok. I'm sure Namjoon would take issue to his boyfriend coming home with bruises."
"He's not my boyfriend."
"He sure acts like it. He talks about you all the time. I would ask around about Yoongi sometimes and he would always turn it into a spiel about you." Namjoon felt a bit guilty about planning to go see Jin then.
"You asked about me?" Yoongi looked surprised and Jimin shot Namjoon a look that said thank you for never telling Yoongi about the times he had texted asking about him. It had only been three or four times but he figured it was something they needed to work out on their own and they had. The look they were giving each other was one he saw several times on his way over and he suddenly felt like they needed some space. They were still ironing out some things and he was sure some uncomfortable questions were about to be asked so he excused himself after clapping Yoongi on the shoulder and congratulating him. He was happy that they had finally worked things out. If only he could work what he had out.
He decided not to go to Jin's store and headed the opposite way of the station. He'd walk a bit to clear his head and then maybe take a bus but he didn't want to go underground again. The stars were a great inspiration and though Seoul's light pollution blocked the view somewhat, he still like looking up at the sky. He sent another text to Hoseok asking to meet somewhere. He didn't care if they were fighting, he was determined to work things out tonight and go to sleep holding the man he loved.
