I woke up to the sound of my shower running and light singing. I rubbed my eyes and got out of bed, walking to the bathroom. I listened closely to the sound of his singing.

'You and I,

We have to let each other go,

We keep holding on but we both know,

What seemed like a good idea's turned into a battlefield.'

"I will always and forever love your singing." I smiled to him, even though I knew he couldn't see it. "Why haven't you tried having a career? I mean, you guys have the money plus, you could just go on X Factor or something." I ask, putting the toothpaste on my toothbrush. I look at my reflection in the mirror.

You're a horrible person.

"I don't want one. Never have, never will. I see what my dad goes through with fans and stuff and I mean, yeah he loves them and all of them are super sweet, I just don't want that."

"Oh." I turn the sink water off as Mingus turns off the shower water. His hand reaches from around the curtain, grabbing a towel and stepping out. He smiles that gorgeous white smile and I smile back. He kisses my forehead, making me giggle.

"What?" He asks walking out into my room. I shake my head, I don't know what I'm giggling at.

"Wait, you were suppose to tell me why you came to my house so late." I took a seat on my bed, facing him.

"I,um,  I wrecked my car. I was drinking and driving and a buddy and I were racing and I lost control. All I can remember is walking here." My mouth dropped open and I quickly covered it with my hand.

"You what!" I yelled, slapping the back of his head. "What the hell, Mingus! You could have been killed! You have to tell your dad!" He rubbed the back of his head where I had slapped him, buttoned his jeans, and began to walk out of the room. "Mingus!" He ignores my calls and continued walking. "Why are you ignoring me!" I was suddenly pushed up against the wall and pined closely between it and him, making me wince in pain.

"Shut up! God, when someone ignores you, you stop talking!" He yelled at me, hitting his fist against the wall and letting me go. He gave me a look that was full of sorrow and hurt, then walked out.

Over the next few hours my mind keeps trying to rap around the fact that Mingus had done what he did. What had gotten into him?

Norman had called me, telling me all about what Mingus had done, like I didn't already know. But I played along and pretended that I didn't. If he found out that I knew, he'd kill me. He asked me to come over and stay the night so, I packed my things and headed over.

It was raining, making the drive over seem even longer than usual. I turned on the radio, catching a glimpse of the lyrics Mingus had been singing earlier in the shower.

'You and I,

We have to let each other go,

We keep holding on but we both know,

What seemed like a good idea's turned into a battlefield,

Peace will come,

When one of us puts down the gun,

Be strong for both of us,

No please don't run, don't run,

Eye to eye we face our fears,

Unarmed on the battlefield,

We seemed like a good idea,

We seemed like a good idea."

I quickly turned it off, still upset at Mingus. I missed him. His goofy smile and the way he sang really loud to me in the car. Every song that came on, he knew. Whether it was new or old, good or bad, he loved them all.

The thought were quickly removed from my mind as I pulled in Norman's drive-way. He was standing outside, his hair messy and you could tell he needed to shave. He was wearing that stupid vest, the one that Daryl always wore. The was it fit just right could kill any woman in an instant.

A smile soon appeared on his lips as I got out of my car, making my way towards him. He blew out the last bit of smoke and kissed me softly.

"Hey, baby." He kissed my forehead and grabbed my hand. Dragging me inside.

"Slow down there, turbo," I laughed as he pulled me through the door and quickly shutting it behind me. "What's the rush?" I asked innocently.

"I'm just happy that you're here." He smiled, kissing my jawline and neck.

"More like you're horny." He chuckled, making me giggle.

He picked me up, rapping my legs around his waist, pressing my back on the front door. The moment was getting more and more intense as we continued to kiss. He kissed more rough, grabbing my bottom lip and tugging gently. He held my lower back as I was carried to his room. He threw me down, taking off that stupid, but sexy, vest, throwing it on the floor. His pants and boxers were soon removed after.

I did the same, removing my shirt and pants, letting him have the fun in taking off my bra and underwear.

We were soon under the sheets, gasps and heaving breathing filled the room. With every thrust I whimpered, trying to catch my breath. My name fell from his lips and his his thrusts became sloppy as he twitched in me, making me aware that he was finished. He collapsed on top of me, resting his head on my chest. I started rubbing his back, drawing circles and squares. He took a deep breath and began to speak.

"Your heartbeat is so.. peaceful," I smiled at his words. "How do you do it?"

"How do I do what?" He rolled off me, taking the spot on my right.

"Make someone fall in love with you so easily." I didn't answer him. I didn't know how. Did he just confess to being in love with me? Was he just asking a simple question? He kissed my forehead and rolled over, facing his back towards me. I follow his actions, rapping my arms around his warm body, lightly kissing his shoulder blade.

I removed my arms from around him, trying my hardest not to wake him up. I accomplished my goal of not waking him up and got out of bed, feeling around for my underwear and a shirt. I placed both on, only to find that the shirt wasn't really a shirt at all, it was his stupid vest that I had a love/hate relationship for. I quietly walked to the kitchen, grabbing a yogurt from the fridge. I grab a spoon from the drawer and hoping up onto the counter.

"Genevieve?"

"Mingus."
