Cameron
Mikah been going crazy since earlier. He been crying, slamming stuff, and screaming like he mad at the world.
"MIKAH!" I yelled
He turned to me.
"Calm down alright. Just call her and see if she okay." I said.
Mikah pulled out his phone and dialed her number. He put it on speaker.
Jamila- Hello?
Mikah- You okay? Why didn't you call me?
Jamila- We moving so I was packing and unpacking.
Mikah- They put you somewhere already? You want me to come get you?
Jamila- No Mikah, I'm back with Kamiya. We moving into a new apartment.
Mikah- So you not going anywhere?
Jamila- Nope
Mikah- Can I come and help y'all?
Jamila- Sure we almost done anyway.
Mikah- Text me the address
Jamila- Okay
He hang up and start to walk out.
"You coming or you just gone sit and look stupid?" He asked me.
"Yeah." I said
I got up from the couch and followed him outside.
Kamiya
I was setting up my room with the little bit of stuff we had. I really like black so my bed set was black.
"Mikahs coming over." Jamila said walking into my room.
"Okay." I said.
"So since you're the legal guardian of me does that mean you're like my adopted mom?" She asked
"No it means I'm the adult watching you basically." I said
"Okay I guess." She said
"I'm still your sister, nothing has changed." I said
"Except we don't have a mom anymore." She said
"We'll be okay without her plus she said she'll send money when ever she can. That way the bills can stay paid." I said
"How are you taking this so well?" She asked
"Because I'm used to getting disappointed. It used to hurt knowing that she didn't really care but now I'm old enough to not care." I said
It was a knock on the door and we walked to it.
Jamila opened it and it was Cameron and Mikah. They came in and looked around.
"Come help me put up my pictures." Jamila said taking Mikahs hand.
"You need help with anything?" Cameron asked
"No I'm finished." I said.
"So uh... it's um... this restaurant that opened yesterday. And uh... I was um wondering if you would want to come there with me." He stuttered
"I'm really busy right now. I really have to find another job and we're going through a lot right now." I said.
"I can give you money." He said.
"I don't wanna take your money. I would rather work hard to get what I want than just take hand outs." I said.
"But I have more than enough money. It's not a problem helping you and your sister out." He said.
