'It seems the bomb in his neck is sustaining him, keeping him alive. I'm surprised you could feel the pulse, it's so weak.'

Maehara:'Why didn't you remove the bomb?'

Doctor:'We thought the muscle was too stubborn to be cut. Turns out the bomb is just regenerating it.

Maehara:'So are we going to see if we can wake him up? His wound is pretty much better. '

I looked down at Sugino. He was in the third bed in the room. It fit 6. I shook him, softly calling his name.

I heard a low groan.

His pulse was getting stronger. He seemed to be awaking from his hibernation state.

Sugino:'Nnrgh'

Maehara:'How are you this fine day?'

Sugino:'Where's Yukiko?'

Isogai:'With Karma and Nagisa and Hiromi. We hope. '

Sugino:'that's a very bad thing! Being around her is..'

Maehara:'We mean that if they aren't with her they're probably dead. We don't want them to be dead.'

Sugino:'What happened while I was asleep?'

Maehara:'This guy ran himself through with a knife. '

He gestured to me.

Sugino:'WHAT?'

Maehara:'He thought we were dead. He stabbed Hiromi in the process.'

Isogai:'Getting stabbed was a side effect, not the main goal.'

Sugino:'So how many do we know have been stabbed?'

Maehara:'Isogai, Karma, me, you, and the weird homeless dude. Five.'

Sugino:'She sure has a thing for Stabbing. '

We have the van.

'GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE WITH YOUR HANDS UP.'

She was wearing a good disguise. Enough to fool civilians, but not us.

'Don't come closer or I'll detonate them. '

So the others did have bombs.

'WE HAVE YOU SURROUNDED'

She held up a dead man's switch. Guess that puts just shooting her out of the picture.

She walked over to the back of the van. She pulled out 3 cages. She slowly opened them, one by one binding and blindfolding them and setting them against the van.

The bit that shocked me was the total submission, even from Karma. They didn't even look scared, they just sat there, as if this happened every day.

A Member of my team was talking to Hiromi, trying to convince her to release them. I looked at Nagisa. He was using his teeth to undo Kanzakis blindfold. She was undoing Karma's. Once this was done, they started at cloth binding their hands. Karma undid Nagisas and they all untied their own feet. They strolled calmly over to me, as if this was all an act.

That's when I noticed something.  Their eyes were completely black.
