Nicole's POV

"You know, about last night........," Chris said as we sat in his car to go to my school. "Lydia and I are over, we-,"

"You don't owe me an explanation, Chris. I am just staying at your place because nobody wants to keep me, which is part your fault, but I'm grateful, that's it. And thank you for not forcing anything on me, atleast not every time. You can date Lydia or anyone in the world." I rolled down my window and looked outside, I just wanted to avoid this topic.

"No. I don't want to date or kiss or do worse to anyone but you."

I sucked in my blush and the weird feeling in my gut and said, "Your loss. Lydia is a beautiful girl and I, I can't be, I can't date you."

"Oh I will make you change your mind. I’m sorry our first date went like this, but hey, first is not the last."

"I don't think so, not in my case. Our date was just a bet, that's it."

"Don't act you didn't enjoy it. Atleast until Lydia came."

This time, I turned to face him and his stupid smirk. "No, I didn't enjoy it. You kissed me forcefully."

"So it comes down to this. It comes down to you not accepting your true feelings."

"Oh come on! I cannot and do not like you! You've cost me a lot! All I want is for things to go to normal."

A flash of hurt was seen in his features. "This is the new normal. You have to accept it. There's nothing you can do. All you can do is accept the reality and live in it with a smile."

I felt sad. Thought I didn't know if I was sad that he was right or sad that he was sad. As if to my rescue, the school came into view. As soon as the car pulled in front of it, I got out and said a quick, "I'll see you later."

"Nicole, wait!" I heard him say and turned around.

"You forgot this." He held in his hand my blue binder. I rushed to him and said in a hurry, "Gee, I'm so forgetful. Thanks."

"And you forgot this too." He pulled me to him and kissed me. It was quick and demanding, not even letting me a chance to move. All I knew amongst my shock was that his lips were on mine and his hands on my waist. My binder slipped out of my hand, thank God it was closed and no papers went flying. When Chris finally let go of me, I wanted to slap him.

"Are you effing crazy?! Everybody is looking at us now! And who do you think-,"

He placed his finger on my lips. "Shut up, or I might start kissing you again and then won't stop. You know how your temper tantrums turn me on." I felt a warm rush coursing through my body, just like when we kissed, well when he kissed me or whatever. "And come on, these people deserve a good show every now and then."

I pushed his finger off my lips and cursed at him. "Never touch me again."

"Never as in, really never or just never in public?" His smug expression grew even more.

"Ugh! Chris, go away."

His smiled seductively now. "You didn't answer, which means you do want it."

"Eww!" I crinkled my eyes and my nose. "No! Gross, you just ruined my day. I'm leaving now." I stomped away from me.

"Bye. Love you." And my heart stopped. I turned back to look at him. His face had some unreadable smile, but with a teasing remark, not anything serious. Maybe he meant to tease and embarrass me further but that's not probably what my hormones thought. Controlling my emotions, I threw him a dirty look and walked into the school campus.
