The chapter's name is haywire because it's all a blur to Nicole as will be mentioned in the next few chapters. Vote and comment to let me know if you like it. Thanks for reading

Nicole's POV

"School's over Ryan, leave me alone," I said, tapping my foot impatiently, anyone in my situation would be acting this way.

"Or, you could ride with me and tutor me for tomorrow's test too," he replied, with as much blindness to my 'not-interested' behavior as ever.

"That's never gonna happen. Chris is on his way."

I noticed his expression change from playful to angry in a matter of seconds at the mention of Chris's name. "You love playing b***ch to that dog, don't you?" He pulled me to him by my elbow.

"Ryan you're crossing the line here." My heartbeat jumped and not in a good way. He was looking at me as if I was the prey and he was the predator.

He ignored my protest and continued, "Do you even know that guy?" Good question, but I know it was rhetorical and obviously it was Ryan jealous side speaking. "That guy partied so hard that his drunk-a** had to be towed home by his sidekick. And didn't you ever wonder the story of his little blondie?" Was he talking about Lydia? I listened intently.

"Chris and that blondie were inseparable, every night they used to get so intoxicated and the excuse they used to give was because their parents are dead. How lame. I still see that old flame and come on, if you don't, then you are too naive, sweetheart." He brushed a strand of my hair from my face. I was too busy processing the details of what he said rather than pushing his hand away. Was all this true? And if so, how do I confirm this? Everybody will take Chris's side.

I pulled away and muttered, "I'll ask Chris myself about all this."

"Babe, Chris is one smart jerk."

"And are you not?"

He smirked. "I am, but not to my baby doll." He caressed my cheek. I stepped away from him as I heard a car pull up, it was Chris. I ran to it, away from Ryan's accusations, that I later realized was actually the reality. I slipped in the shotgun seat and smiled at him despite all the previous drama. He smiled back and he looked angelic or maybe just a devil in disguise. My mind was clearly split in two sides.

"You look dazed, tough day?" Chris finally asked. Would telling him help?

"Ryan joined our school," I breathed out.

"Isn't he like way over eighteen?" Chris jammed the break as a cat crossed the road, running. A younger werewolf followed it. "What is with kids these days?"

"You sound like a frustrated grandpa," I joked.

"Work problem. That's behind me, though. Coming back to Ryan....."

"Yeah, um so he troubled me the whole day........."

"And?" He looked me right in the eye and asked. There are no secrets with Chris, this was an established fact. I wonder why the FBI didn't approach him to join them. Or this was just with me.

"He told me something about you and Lydia and I know that you and Lydia were close but I really don't know much about you as you know about me, which sucks because then I make one-sided judgments-,"

"God you're so cute when you blabber."

"Chris!"

"Okay, okay. It's fine, love. I'll tell you everything, but first you'll have to go on a date with me."

"Agreed."

****

"Nicole!" Chris called for me. I looked at my reflection for one last time before racing downstairs.
