“You two did what?”
“We kissed okay and it’s not much of a big deal…”
“It’s pretty much of a big deal if you asked me”
Zach stood next to me and smirks and nudges me at the shoulders. We’re in the balcony so that nobody except Zach will hear about what I felt. I told him everything from the day after I met Harry. Everything felt good after letting it all out instead of just forcing yourself to be okay around people. And I’m glad that Zach was listening the whole time when I told him the whole story. I guess this is why me and him were really close friends then.
“Zach?” I looked at him carefully
“yes?”
He looks at me and I couldn’t help but stare at him for a second. I didn’t even realize that Zach really is handsome. I wonder why he’s still single.
“Yes Emily?”
I blinked “O-oh um, I was just wondering why did you went to live here in the U.K all of a sudden?”
“Well I didn’t want to live here in the first place to be honest. It was my parents’ decision..”
“Oh.. But after you stayed here, did you like it? Staying here and not going back to the Philippines?”
“I wouldn’t say that I hate this place. After a few adjustments, I started to love this place especially the place where I work” he laughs a little and stares at the view.
“But doesn’t your boss scold you every time?”
“Yes he does. But I don’t mind all the scolding. Just as long as I stay at my favorite place in this country, then I’m okay”
Zach looks at me again and smiles then I felt my cheeks heat as I looked at him. I admire how strong Zach is doing despite what he has to go through on his work. But doesn’t he miss some of the things back in the Philippines? I mean even if I love staying with Anne, Gemma and Harry, I still miss the warm air that felt good by being not too cold. I miss the times whenever it’s Christmas, you just go outside and see fireworks displays just outside of your house and after that you have a family reunion with all of your family. Doesn’t he miss even one of those?
“That’s good then” I smiled and looked at him. “But don’t you miss anything back in the Philippines? Anything at all?”
Zach sighs and looks at the view again.
“I really like our country and I do miss staying there. I miss playing langit lupa with my friends. I miss watching Filipino shows every afternoon. But there is one thing that I miss very much..”
“Really? What is it?”
Zach looks at me carefully as I wait for him to answer.
“N-nothing… I’m just glad that after all this years, I finally met you.” Zach smiles
I smiled. “You too”
“I mean, who ever thought, that you, Ms. Emily Williams, would be the maid of a very famous family and we met in a restaurant because of them and your family?”
I giggled. “Small world?”
“Small world” He nods and laughs
“Am I interrupting something?”
Me and Zach looked back and saw mom entering the balcony.
“Oh not at all tita” Zach smiles as mom hugged both of us
“Would you look at you two, bonding just like the old days?” Mom giggles “Only without toys though”
“Well, we’ve grown up mom” I smiled
