Jerome sat in the car silently as he looked out the window watching his fathers body be taken away from the apartment building causing him to smile. He finally gotten rid of his father, but he was only able to push away the nagging thought of Alice for a short time. He knew she was safer where she was now then with him and until he can get Galavan off of his back he would have to stay away from her. He took a deep breath and drove off silently ignoring the fact Galavans sister was in the car with him.
"You seem distracted." She stated casually. He smiled forcefully and looked at her out of the corner of his eye.
"Don't worry about me."
Alice awoke feeling refreshed as ever. It had been a month since she started staying with Alfred and Bruce. She woke up rather early and made her way to the balcony taking in the fresh air. She smiled to herself while looking off into the distance feeling her mind almost blank. She then remembered why she was there in the first place. Jerome had left her to the police and took off without her. Perhaps, in his own way, he proved to her that he didn't want her around. She sighed and ran her fingers through tangled hair feeling a wave of sadness consume her. She heard a shout and her eyes glanced down to see Bruce and Alfred fighting. She watched curiously noticing it was training of some sort. She didn't understand why he would be training, but then again that was none of her business. She walked inside her room and put on jeans and a white tank top. Soon after she began stretching while looking through her things for something to wear. She sighs and then spots a familiar flannel causing her to pick it up and look at it. She puts it on and nuzzles into it absentmindedly.
"What are you doing?" Bruce asked confused causing the girl to jump in suprise and laugh softly.
"Just getting ready for the day." She then smiled walking towards him giving him a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. He smiled and pushed her off gently feeling a bit embarrassed.
"I need a shower first. I wanted to take you somewhere today if thats okay." He smiled sweetly causing her to smile back and nod happily.
"Okay. Go take your shower while I go make us some breakfast with Alfred okay?" She watches him nod and makes her way over to the kitchen downstairs walking inside seeing Alfred preparing fresh ingredients. "Mind if I help?" She asked with a smile earning an approving look from the butler.
"Sure, if you really want to. You can make pancakes right?" He asked with a smile. She nodded and began getting ingredients for pancakes along with extra. "Now what kind of pancakes are you making?"
"Smore's pancakes. Cinnamon for the gram cracker, hot chocolate powder mix and bits of marshmallow. I think Bruce deserves a tasty treat," she smiled at Alfred who nodded in agreement. She began flipping the pancakes and placing them in a neat stack. She glances to the side noticing a small letter with her name on it. "Hey, Alfred what's that letter?" She asked while reaching for it. Alfred snatches it from her hand and tucks it in his pocket.
"Your hospital papers." He said with a smile and looked at the pancakes she was making. "Those look delicious. Bruce will like them." He said changing the subject eagerly.
"If they are just hospital papers then why can't I see them?" She asked suspiciously while rinsing and cleaning the pan in the sink.
"I wasn't supposed to tell you, but master Bruce didn't want you to find out," he said a little disappointed she didn't drop the subject. "He paid your hospital fees." He smiled a bit and began getting two plates out. She nodded softly feeling a bit skeptical and stretched feeling her form being hugged from behind causing her to let out a shout of suprise. Bruce lets go and laughs while straightening out his shirt.
"Sorry for scaring you." He apologized while still laughing causing her to roll her eyes and punch him playfully. She noticed Alfred place two plates filled with food on the table.
