"Hey kid you ok?" A large italian man asked the redhead who was slumped over holding a bottle of whiskey. Jerome laughed darkly and looked up at the man.
"Where's Penguin?" He asked solemnly. The man backed away a bit and shrugged. Jerome clicked his tongue five times as if in a scolding manner. He pulled out his pistol and looked at the man with a malicious grin. "I want an answer." He demanded and glanced at the mans hand who went for the inside of his coat. "Nuh uh uh," Jerome sang, "I can shoot you faster then you can get your toy out."
"Look man Penguin is at Fish's old club." The man took a deep breath and shook slightly feeling the gun pressed against him more.
"Take me to him." Jerome said angrily. The man nods and walks ahead of Jerome hearing the boy laugh behind him as he followed.
"Eat." James said to Alice as he tossed her a sandwich. She looked at the food and unwrapped the sub eating happily. "So what happened?" James asked watching her try to hurry and swallow the remains in her mouth.
"Oh. Yeah the redheaded guy said he was the new store owner when I came in to work my shift. He's been around or whatever." She leaned back in her chair and looked at Gordon who watched her for any sign of lying.
"The man in the alley. What happened there?" He showed her the picture of the man causing her to grow pale.
"Yeah, he tried to rape me. Stabbed me in the side. The redhead swooped in and saved me from the man and stitched up my wound. I have proof." She shifted in her cuffs a bit and lifted the hem of her shirt up slightly showing Gordon the healing wound. It looked irritated as if it was about to become infected. He sighs and asks his last question.
"Your parents. He do that too?" He didn't bother showing her the pictures of her deceased parents in respect of her emotions.
"My father shot my mother. Redhead came in and took care of my father before he could kill me. Also I know after you send me to a doctor to get my wound cleaned up you're gonna ask 'why let him escape?'. Well, that's because he saved my life twice detective. I owed him his freedom." She stood up and looked around the room and smiled kindly. "Walk me to the doc?"
James looks at her annoyed and nods walking her to Lee. He was suprised she spilled everything so quickly. Perhaps she knew that she wouldn't be seeing Jerome anytime soon. He waited in the room patiently as the girl had her wound cleaned and spoke up absent mindedly. "Why didn't he just kill you? At some point you had to realize he was a killer. It was all over the news. He had to realize you knew."
"I still don't know that myself. He did the exact opposite. Now I get to sit in prison for aiming a gun at you." She laughed a humorless laugh and smiled at Lee. "Thanks for doing this for me ma'am. "
"No problem." She said in shock looking at the girl then to James. Alice was soon escorted to her cage as she referred it to. She looked at the others in custody and hummed softly to herself as the night dragged on.
"Well hello there!" Oswald smiles looking at Jerome who smiles and pushes the big man aside.
"Let's cut the chit chat. I need help." He said quickly earning a nod from Penguin who watched the boy intrigued.
"Yes I know this. The streets talk you know?" He offers him a drink which he accepted cautiously. "A girl you seem to have an interest in is in police custody. You also need information on Cicero's where abouts." He sipped some of his drink and heard Jerome laugh through gritted teeth.
"Some streets we have." He sipped some of his beverage and looked at the cup in disgust setting it to the side.
"Yes. Some streets. I can only offer you help for one situation, but you owe me a favor if I help." Oswald smiled looking at the boy who just kept a smile on his face as well.
