Bruce laughed as Alice sang along to Christmas carols helping Alfred decorate the cabin. He watched happily and bobbed his head to the music full of joy and watched the girl offer her hand to him. "Dance with me!" She exclaimed excitedly watching the boy swallow the lump in his throat nervously.

"I uh can't dance." He said quickly shaking his head looking at her awkwardly. She rolls her eyes and grabs his hands and yanks him onto his feet.

"If you don't try to learn then you will never learn how to dance." She stared casually and the two began to dance with each other sharing smiles and laughter unknowing to the fact that they were being watched by two others. Alfred smiled watching them dance together feeling a sense of relief finally seeing Bruce so happy after such a long time.

A red head boy watched the two from the window and glared at them with so much malice. He walks towards the door and walks in smiling happily stretching his arms wide. "Honey! I'm home!" He smiled looking at them watching the two step away from each other. Alfred slowly tried to reach for the hiking stick freezing when he heard the click of a pistol. He looked up seeing Jerome aiming a pistol at himself. "Beautiful, you didn't tell me you were having friends over." He narrowed his eyes at Alfred soon his vision being blocked by Alice who stood between Alfred and the gun.

"Put the gun away. They have been nothing but kind to me." She said looking at him boredly causing his jaw to tighten feeling annoyed. Bruce watched in horror.

"And I haven't?! This is how you repay me? Pairing up with the rich brat and his butler?" He said with a humorless laugh and watched the girl sigh annoyed.

"I never said you didn't do anything for me, but you will have to kill me before them. " She said angrily earning a pout from the redhead. He stared at her watching for any sign of wavering, but saw none.

"I have a car running. Let's go." He walked to the door putting down his gun annoyed. Alice follows him slowly hearing a voice behind her causing her to look at the source.

"You don't have to leave with him. You can stay with us! Gordon can keep you safe!" Bruce pleaded watching Jerome roll his eyes at the boy and glare at Alice.

"What's it gonna be?" Jerome leans back against the door frame looking at the girl with pure anger which was masked behind his smile. Alicia looked towards Bruce apologetically and walked past Jerome out the door with him following behind with a small victorious laugh. "I'll see you pretty soon Bruce." The two make their way to a car which was parked out of sight. Jerome was a little too silent for her liking and seemed to not be smiling anymore. She sat in the car quietly as Jerome drove through Gotham with silence shrouding over them.

"Must have been nice being pampered like that." Jerome broke the silence and glanced at Alice who looked at him confused.

"Pampered? We just stayed in the same house. You told me to stay there." She said defensively earning an annoyed laugh from the boy.

"Excuses, excuses. You should have stayed. Would have been a lot more peaceful without you." He said continuing to focus on driving. They drove onto a bridge over looking a river which was full and fast flowing.

"Stop the car." She demanded avoiding his gaze.

"Why?" He asked almost with a scoff.

"Stop the damn car or I'll jump out of it!" She yelled at him. Her voice cold holding his heart in its vice like grip.

"Go ahead. You don't have the guts anyways." He said feeling a little unsure of what she would do. She laughs softly shaking her head opening the car door and hurled her body out of the moving vehicle. Jerome looks into the rear view mirror in shock feeling his jaw tighten in frustration. Alice's body scraped across the black top ripping skin off her face and hands which were exposed. She heard cars swerve around her and honk while crashing into one another. She looks up and her blue eyes meet Jerome's green ones. She gets up quickly and runs up the bridge more to reach the top. She turned her head seeing the ginger sprinting after her with a mix of anger and worry. She continued running and stopped when she reached the peak which caused her to climb onto the railing seperating her from the rushing water and a busy street. People were yelling at her to get down, others screaming, some even cursing at her telling her to do it, but one voice broke her out of her silent state. "Alice come here right now!" Jerome yelled loudly while his voice wavering from either running too much or the emotions he felt, Alice couldn't tell. She turned her back to the river watching him walk up to her. Her gaze was lifeless and almost bored as he approached her. He reached his hand out towards her only to see her arms spread wide and a smile on her face as she fell back. "No!"
