"So your rooms are just down the hall." The tall blonde worker says as we follow her down the narrow hallway. This place screams wealthy. The woman stops in front of a door and slides a card into a little slot. She pushes open the door before looking back at me with a smile."Here is your room, Ms. Kane." I flash a smile and walk past her into the fairly large room. I sit my small luggage down on the bed before turning back to my friends.
"You can head down to the dinner hall at seven for dinner and then afterwards make your way to where the mud baths our held." She says sounding tired. Where exactly are the mud baths? I am about to ask her but she closes my door. Well isn't she just lovely. I sigh and turn back to my suitcase.
Our time at the resort was over in the blink of an eye. We where gone as soon as we arrived and I was back at work.
"Alison, I have your coffee." I look up from my desk and see Nikki standing at my office door. My newest client, Mr. Rollings turns and looks at her. Nikki glances at him and she straitens up. I hold back an eye roll before standing up from my desk. I straighten out my blouse. My heels click against the wood floor as I walk over to her.
"Thank you Nikki." I give a small smile as I grab my coffee from her. She nods before looking back to my client. She eyes him before leaving my office and returning to her cubicle.
"I'm sorry for the interruption." I apologize to the handsome man in front of me. He is being sued because he was claimed to steal a black C7 corvette stingray, from a buddy who slept with his now ex girlfriend.
"It is fine Alison, if I may?" He says to me using my first name instead of my last. I raise my brows and a small smile appears.
"Only if I can call you Nolan." I joke with his first name. He smirks. His blue eyes stare into mine. Are we flirting? I don't think that would be very professional of me.
"Where were we?" I ask breaking eye contact. He breathes in and folds his hands together.
"I believe we were talking about the time it happened." Nolan speaks. I nod and pick up the folder on my desk. I look at the file inside.
"Right, you said you were in San Diego when your buddy claimed you stole his car?" I ask him. He nods before rolling his eyes.
"I don't think I would classify him as a buddy anymore." Nolan scoffs. I nod agreeing. We talk more about the case for about an hour before it is my lunch break.
"Well Mr. Rollings, I believe our appointment is over." I tell him as I glance down at my watch. I hear him sigh. I look up to him and watch as he stands up. He straightens out his suit and I stand up also. I step around my desk to shake his hand. He smirks and holds onto my hand longer than necessary.
"That is unfortunate, I wish we could spend more time together." He flirts. I pull back my hand and glance away. I think I might get in trouble if I am seen with a client.
"Yes, such a bummer." I joke. He chuckles before looking a his watch.
"Maybe we could go out for dinner some time?" He asks me and this is where I have to draw the line. I shake my head but keep a polite smile.
"I don't think my boss would like that." I disagree. He sighs once more.
"Ahh see but it would be strictly business." He argues. I raise a brow and give him a skeptical look.
Ok Alison, just say no.
"Well then I don't see why not." I smile. He grins and shakes my hand once more.
"Great, well then I will see you tonight at eight and at Frank's." He tells me. He drops my hand before swiftly turning and leaving. Wait what is franks? I walk out of my office and over to Nikki's cubicle.
