Chapter 3
Looking over to my right I saw that mom and Tiffany had fallen asleep. I looked around for something to do, eventually finding nothing I twiddled my thumbs. The music in the Tax cab was on a weird type of classical jazz. I hated it but found no 'polite' way to tell him to either turn it of or change the radio station.
Suddenly the knob of the radio turned slightly. On came loud rough upbeat all-night party music. It kept its little turn 'till a soft classical music simmered through my awaiting ears. At this point it was a little freaky how a machine was turning itself. Our driver was spooked he jumped and his hairs stood straight up like an alert dog. With the Slam of the brakes and a sharp side turn,we were in the emergency lane.
"What is that" he said looking around wildly as if the answer would come from thin air.
I laughed wildly in my head but a only a small smile creeped to the world.
" What! What? tell me" he begged realizing I knew a little something.
Mater of fact I did. Did anybody remember a little invisible dude named X was roaming around this little cozy cab. Well I bet you he hated the music too and since he was "unseen" he couldn't offense anyone.Realizing that the girl sitting up front was smiling I knew she was a tad bit talented also, and that her and her father weren't just going on a bonding stroll at the dock.
Checking over my newbie status I realized that I knew two gifted people who were going to the Academy. Well I was sure beyond doubt about X but the girl in front of me I wasn't too sure about.
Half of me wanted to be like a snake and roam in every little crevice of her thoughts but hen again that's a little you know 'intrusive'. X I felt we were cool enough for me to do it once in a while but her, I'd have to think about.
So for the rest of the ride I daydreamed about the moments ahead of me, and yes for a while my dead father I never met.

The dock came close as My mother awoke her face instantly refreshed from her little nap.
"Are you ready? She asked,
I half knew what she was asking but just on the safe side I gave her a quizzical look.
" Have you forgotten about the Academy already" she joked
"Not really."
Honestly it was mostly the only thing on my mind, But no point telling her that she'd tell me it was nothing.
We arrived moments later the conversations of my mother and Rob,our Taxi driver filled the silence.(I learned his name from there conversations NOT snooping) Tiffany was still sleeping when Rob parked. Mother gently woke her up as I headed towards the eccentric girl.
The sign of the sight where we were supposed to meet wasn't very prominent but if you knew what you were look ing for you were fine.
Looking to my side i realized that Tiffany's hair was a mess and like the stuck-up dweeb she is she somehow managed to pick-pocket my suitcase and stole my brush and comb. She waved it around like a flag with a mocking grin. I lunged for her puny head but stopped at the sight of my mothers disapproving look.
Rob came to my door with daughter a step away and to his right like a guard. I gave him a small thank you and stepped out. After our luggage was out I hulled towards the meeting site. I walked along side the girl. There was a bit of awkward silence
" Hey" I said trying to start up a conversational tone.
"Oh Hi,The Academy or you visiting?"
" The Academy." I answered coolly she seemed pretty nice. Bold though
" Are you new?"I said keeping up the conversation then realized shed only spoken once.
"Umm Yeah. You?" She replied
"Yup" the small talk continued until we found civilization. Another realization proved that we didn't know each others name. So to follow hor 'boldness' I put out my hand and said
"Miranda" and in return she said
"Sophie" fitting I guess she was pretty much soft but you know outgoing at the same time.
