Sophie and I walked with Rob and my mother, while Tiffany tailed behind. I got to know that Sophie's mother died with terminal cancer but had been a tough cookieWhen we got of the subject of our parents death we realized we had a few minutes to spare we, so stopped for pizza.
A large woman enclosed with a purple, shimmering gown come near us. "The teen and children island cruise is about to dock" she said.
The different tones in her hair sort of reminded me of the same types my father had in his younger pictures.her eyes were radiant and all in all beautiful. I noticed she walked with a certain grace only someone who took ballet or someone trained of dignity could have.
Tiffany stayed at our table and the rest of us left and followed the woman. We saw a line of children. Some I noticed had charms or jewels but I guess that's something students earned.
There was a wooden plank to walk down to enter a boat but there was something like a machine you walked thought to test if you were truly gifted. The guards warned us that if we knew we weren't gifted we shouldn't go though because guards would swarm around us.. So Sophie and I had to part with are parents then. We hugged and waved and when my mind started rolling over the thought that I wouldn't be seeing my mom for about a year tears started rolling down. I guess it was also hard for mom parting with my Dad and now me.
Sophie as tough As she looked was having trouble keeping together.
We finally broke apart. We walked down the plank I jolted and shouted X. Who Sophie shouted back. "We left X in the car" a ghostly figure started to appear than a boyish figure than X " who me?" X said innocently. " Finally remembered me like everyone else forgets."
I could tell I hit a wound so there was a bit of awkward silence. Sophie looked around finally I blurted out a sorry and we kept on walking.
When we reached the end of the plank we saw the same large woman who escorted us at the pizza place. There was a magical purple bluish swirl of nothingness that everyone was pushed through. I looked at Sophie and X as we were approaching the portal type thing. As if on cue all three of us halted in front of the woman's feet kind of afraid to where this portal was leading. Yet at the same tie excitement was coursing through our veins like a wildfire. We finally one by one descended into the portal and a large grassy space suddenly arrived and i fell unto it with a thud. Many other students were there already while others seemed to fall from nowhere and scattered around us. Some of their faces registered shock while others seemed calmed relaxed even there were also other kids with dramatic flares who screamed and waived there arms and legs making it impossible to miss there shows.
Looking over Sophie was looking very exited and ready X chose this moment to go invisible. And at this point I was was trying to recall what in the world just happened. Well I wasn't exactly sure if I was in any world at all. I finally got up realizing how tired this whole portal traveling could make you. My head spined I stabled myself on Sophie wondering how I trusted someone I just met. Her honesty probably had a role in this. The large elegant lady found herself in front of us with all the kids in the yard or front lawn I would know soon.
