As practice comes to an end, I pretend to ignore all of the stares from all the other players. I smirk on the inside as I kick the ball one last time past the goalie, slamming it into the net. There is no telling how satisfying it is to see the awe and excitement in their eyes, even the coaches, even if he won't admit it out loud.
The adrenaline still pumping in my veins, I run to the benches, fetching my water as I watch Gale finishing the cone drill, opposite side of the field of where I previously was. Everyone was sweating, smelly and icky looking, but it looked good on Gale. His hair plastered to his forehead, sweat dropping from his chin to his chest as he bounces the ball on his knee, leaned back. Sounds gross, but who knew it would look so good?
I didn't even bother looking at Gabriel. I was so frustrated with him! We had been stuck together in every drill, and he would try tripping me every chance he got. The first couple times, he succeeded but after that, I watched out of the corner of my eye any time he got near me.
I also wouldn't look at him because of the fact that he was also shirtless, like every other guy here. I kept telling myself that I just found him revolting, ignoring the voice in my head commenting how he has an eight pack, drooling and orgasming in her pants. Metaphorically of course, since it is all just in my mind. Again, ignoring it.
I look around the field at my teammates, ignoring Gabriel of course, and watch as some of the guys were lying on the ground, groaning about being tired and needing a shower. I rolled my eyes, feeling the adrenaline burning. What we did in practice was hard, but not as hard as I had pushed myself after junior year, putting all my time and effort into soccer. How else was I able to pull off a flip kick like that first day, without practicing almost 24/7?
I almost choke on my water as I hear a voice behind me, scaring me shitless!
"You are one of the few people I know who can still stand after a practice like that," says the breathless, but kind sounding voice behind me.
I turn around to see one of my teammates, crashed on the side bench, breathing heavy as if he just ran nonstop for hours. Which is probably what he did for the past three hours since it was one of the drills. He was tall, but not nearly as tall as many of the other players. He was lankier than most of them, too, although I can tell it's still all lean muscle by the way his muscles move and bunch as he sits up, still breathing hard. He has the lightest blonde hair you can ever find, almost as if it was bleached. Chocolate brown eyes completed his cute and adorable look.
"Are you just going to stand there checking me out or say thank you for my compliment?"
"Uhh... Yeah sorry. You just look so cute and adorable, it's hard not to come up to you and not pinch those cheeks!"
His face turns beet red as I say it, rubbing the back of his neck as if embarrassed. I laugh as I plant my behind next to him, smiling and holding out my hand for him to shake.
"Sorry, couldn't help it. Name's Sienna, and you, cutie?"
He takes my hand and shakes it. Soft hands, like a babies bottom!
"Names Liam. Liam Jacobson, and I like your spunk. Not a lot of people would stand up to Gabe, let alone play one-on-one against him. Just watching his ass being handed to him by a girl is like the best feeling ever."
I laugh as he practically bounced in place, feeling exhilarated by the fact that he doesn't seem to care that I'm a girl on his team, but rather enjoys it.
"Well, Liam, it seems like you just became my new best friend!!"
"Yes!"
We laughed as we jump up and bump hips as if we have been doing it forever. We talk some more while I was waiting for Gale to finish his drills. I found out that he was only 15, the youngest on the team. He was accepted because of his soccer skills and because he was, in fact, a senior. Apparently he's a genius when it came to, well, everything! Skipped three years, after taking the SATs the summer after his 8th grade graduation and passing with flying colors, the best score out of all high schoolers apparently. Tried out for soccer here. Also might have helped over the fact that Headmaster Tyler is his uncle.
