"Is this the last of it?"
I look up to see Gale standing in the doorway, caring my comforter and pillow. As soon as he told me I was accepted into the school, we packed up as much of my stuff as we could fit in his car, and drove straight to my new dorm. Apparently, my dad knew about it way before hand, so the registration papers were already sent. All i had to do was pick up a sheet with my school schedule, and an envelope which held my room key, room number, and the dorm moniters name.
"Yeah, I think it is. Dad is sending over the rest of my stuff, a car load, I think."
"The place is looking nice so far. Do you know what your schedule is like?"
"Nope, but I'm sure it's going to be great! Dad told me he requested a drama class for me."
"You're into drama? I have that class. You do realize it's a two hour course, each and every day? Every other class is an every other day switcharoo."
I looked at him, wide-eyed. I've been into drama since I was a child and went to see Midsummer Night's Dream in the community theatre. I was one of the leaders in the drama club before last years accident. Not so much now, but I can't wait to get started!
"Drama has been my life! Well, both theatre and high school life, up until now."
"What drama?"
I avoid his gaze, fiddling with the comforter we were sitting on. I wasn't ready to tell him what happened, no matter if I liked him or not. Huh.. I guess I do like him. Had to see it coming.
"What's your schedule like," I asked, changing subjects.
He looked at me for a minute, narrowing his eyes. What he saw, I don't know, but he let it go. Good. It will take me a while to break down what happened, for now.
"Chem on mondays, wednesdays and fridays, along with senior p.e. Then after every other day, it's all day practice for every soccer player. Look, even you have it like that, obviously. You have Chem with me, but you don't have senior p.e. Instead you have senior social studies, which by the way has one of the most laid back teachers ever. You will pass with flying colors."
"Thank god," I said, falling backwards on the bed in relief. "I am NOT good with history."
"Don't worry, I'll help you with the hard stuff," he says, after giving a full belly laugh that sounded amazing. It's like water flowing down your skin.
"Well, I guess I better get going. I have to finish unpacking MY things in my dorm room. It's actually the window straight across from your's. We both have the view of the soccer field. Come look."
We both go to my big window, which covers half of my wall. I look outside, and towards his window that he pointed out, and noticed how nice his room is. Then I notice that if i can see his room perfectily, then he would be able to see mine. I will have to make sure my curtains are closed when I change. The buildings we live in are slanted at a point, meeting at an angle to join the two buildings together. There was a clear view of the soccer field, which gives me the jitters just thinking about playing there.
I start daydreaming, picturing myself kicking the ball across the field, hearing the cheers, claps on the back from the boys of the team. Scouts pulling me aside, asking for me to visit their school and play with them. Going to state and kicking ass.
