This is not like another story posted here on Wattpad. It won't be bashing or name-calling or arguing for why I think Kaidan is better. Well, okay, let's be honest, there might be a little arguing.
But it won't be about "Kaidan" per se, it will focus more on the dialogue and writing skills (or lack thereof), of the creators of Mass Effect and how it greatly influenced player perception of their characters.
As to how I propose to do this, read on. Of all the romances throughout the trilogy, I have "lightly" experienced several of them over multiple play throughs.
When I first played Mass Effect, I started at the end, picking up a copy of ME3 in April at EB Games for $30 while I waited for the next Assassin's Creed title to be released.
At the time, I knew nothing of Bioware, Mass Effect or Dragon Age. When I finished Mass Effect 3, well...
Ahem. Yeah, after "that" ending, I had to know more about what was going on with the fans and why. So I watched a YouTube video about the original ending and knew instantly that fans who were upset were rightly justified.
And then Assassin's Creed was out and I put Mass Effect aside. Eventually I finished and got bored with AC and returned to Mass Effect. I thought, I wonder how different this game would be if I played ME2?So I did. But I still had no idea who the hell Wrex was. Every where I looked, debates and love/hate wars were happening over what choices people had made. And I still hadn't met Wrex. So I picked up Mass Effect, 5 years after it had been released, looking forward to finding out who Wrex was and why I should care.
As the title screen loaded and asked me to input my new ID I felt an odd sensation of excitement, like I was about to embark on an epic journey -- one in which I was wholly unprepared for.
And so began my journey into the Mass Effect Universe, the Fandom, the Wiki and finally the land of Fanfiction.
