She looked out onto the city, her heart sinking for the millionth time. Then, she looked away. It was the same. The same dark sky, the same buzzing city lights, the same still tower, the same conquering emotions. But she wasn't. Not the same Horizon she had been three years ago when she last came here. Then, she was happy, excited for going back home, her small home in a small city. Then, she had not been alone the way she was at this moment. Left only with memories.

Wiping a stray tear, she turned around and walked into her new house. Her room was dark like her soul. She raised her hand to switch on the lights. If only she could do something similar to her heart as well. The illuminated room brought an aura of newness even though she had been living there for two years. She was used to it by now but not familiar. It was pink just like it had been in her previous home but here it was bigger. Bigger thus emptier.

She walked to her wardrobe snd opened the hanging section. Flipping through the clothes to chose a certain piece, her eyes landed on a folded parrot green dress lying in the corner. Tentatively, she picked it up and examined it. It was her lucky piece. Whenever she wore it, she would somehow see him. It had been gifted to her by her most favourite aunt through her mom's brother. Since then, it had been lucky for her. Sadly, it was the same one she had worn when he left, without giving a goodbye glance.

She carefully inspected it for any dust since she only wore it twice after that event. Her heart no longer had the strength to love it. Feeling defeated yet again, she kept it aside. A memory flew before her eyes in which she was searching hysterically for a bright red-pink suit everywhere and then her mother told her she had given it away. She fell down to her knees and thought, 'But it was my favorite. I had hardly wore it thrice after I lost a bit weight because it had become too tight. And most importantly, I had worn it the first time I fell for him. That time, he was looking at me.'
