I sat on the edge of my bed, staring out of the window. The sky was painted crimson by the sunset, and the trees swayed gracefully in the warm breeze. I heard footsteps approaching my room and a knock on my door. I heard it creak open as Joji stepped in and sat on the bed next to me. "The sunset's beautiful." I said softly. "Almost as beautiful as you." Joji smiled, stroking my back. "That's so fucking cheesy." I chuckled, but on the inside I loved it. "Hey, its true." Joji laughed lightly, laying his head on my shoulder.
I sighed contently. This was perfect. I saw Joji reach for my hand and I felt my cheeks heat up. "______." He whispered. "I really do love you." He said softly, running his thumb across my hand gently. He turned to face me, gazing into my eyes with his hazy brown ones. His mouth was slightly open, as if he was going to say something else, but he didn't. Instead, he placed a hand on my cheek and leaned in, pressing his soft lips against mine in a sweet kiss.
"Hey." Joji waved a hand in front of my face. "Hello." He had stepped back from the hug and was now trying to wake me up from my daydream. "______. Are you awake? Hello!" Joji laughed as I snapped back into reality, my eyes wide in embarrassment. "Dude." I said, staring at him. "What were you thinking about?" He chuckled. I felt my cheeks heat up. "I was thinking about..." I looked around frantically. "I zoned out looking out the window." I lied obviously. "Haha. Now tell me what you were actually thinking about."
Thoughts raced through my head. "Going to work." I lied again. "______." He said my name in a 'really?' voice. I sighed. "Do you actually think I'm going to believe that?" Joji asked. " If I said what I was actually thinking, it would be super fucking awkward." "I'm okay with that." "No you're not." I said, staring into his eyes. "Please? I'm curious." His puppy eyes were too much. I groaned. "Fine. But you can't be alarmed and you can't laugh at me." I said, making a pouty face. "I'm not making any promises." Joji said, smiling.
"Alright, so I was on my bed and I was looking out of the window... At the sunset. And then you came in and you told me the the sunset wasn't as pretty as me. And then you kissed me." I looked down in shame and felt a smirk creeping onto Joji's lips. "You didn't say the details." He said. I felt my heart flutter. The details? I glanced up at him. "Really Joji?" I tilted my head.
"Tell me the details." He repeated, crossing his arms and smirking. "Why are you acting like a horny 13 year old boy?" I asked jokingly. "Because I wanna know." Joji smiled with guilt in his eyes. "Well, y-you were holding my hand and you said-" I stammered and felt my cheeks heat up as Joji's face softened. "You said... 'I really do love you'..." My voice trailed off and I looked at the floor, trying my best to avoid eye contact.
"And?" Joji's voice changed, and I couldn't tell in what way. Was it lust-filled? Was it sweeter? "And then... you looked into my eyes and you put your hand on my face-" I bit my lip. "Then you kissed me. And your lips were really soft." I finished. We stood there in silence for a moment, until I finally gained enough courage to look up and into his eyes again.
His cheeks were tinted red, and his mouth was hanging open as it was in the daydream. It made his lips look bigger. "I mean, there's only one way to find out if that's true." He murmured. Smooth motherfucker. I felt blood rushing to my cheeks as he said that, I was obviously red by now. "I-" I stuttered. Before I could finish my sentence, his mouth was on mine and he was kissing me.
His arms wrapped around me and he pulled back, both of our faces flushed. I bit my lip, gazing at him. He was truly a work of art. His eyes seemed to scan my body before I spoke again. "It is." I muttered, staring at him in awe. If only I could call him mine.
