Last Breathe - Chapter 3
I lay there, in pain. Tears moistened my cheeks, i closed my eyes, trying to block out the pain. I heard footsteps and began to panic, i tried to push myself futher into the alcove, but it was no use. I lay there and hoped who ever it was wouldnt see me. I heard a gasp.
"Oh my god Annie. What happend. Oh my god. Annie." Allie whispered, i heard her begin to cry. I opened my eyes to see her kneeling down infront of me. Although Allie was sarcastic and smart, when it came to people getting hurt, she was sensitive.
"I-i-i'm fine, p-p-please dont c-cry." I managed to say inbetween my uneaven breathing. She didn't say anything, i felt her scoop me up in her arms and carry me, bridal style, down the old stairs, they led down to the old changing rooms, which werent used any more. She pushed the changing room doors open and walked over to the showers, she began removing my pants. Once i was stripped down to my bra and knickers, she turned on the shower and kneeled down holding me under the warm water. She washed away all the blood with her hands before taking off her jumper and using it to dry my body off. She placed my clothes back on and scooped me up again. I must of blacked out because the next thing i knew i was siting in the back of her car and we were driving through the town.
"How did you get out of school without being caught ?" I questioned quietly.
"I went out the old changing rooms and round the back of the school to the carpark."
"oh okay where are you taking me ?"
"To my house." She said in a calm tone. The rest of the drive was silent. Allie lived fourty minutes away from the school, sort of in the country. When we arrived at her house she got out of the car and walked round the my side. She un-buckled me and scooped me up again carrying me to her living room. She went to the kitchen and soon returned with a drink and a sandwich. Both Her Parents, Susan and Tyler, Worked through the day until nine at night, so we were safe.
"Here eat this, oh and drink your tea, its got lots of sugar in it, for the shock."
"Thanks Allie, your such a good friend." I said whilst taking a bite of my sandwich and a sip of my tea.
"Your welcome, don't mention it, but i need to ask you something." She said whilst kneeling down next to me. "Who did this to you ?"
"I cant tell you." I said calmly.
"Yes, yes you can, you must, i mean it, i wont just let it slip, Annie, who did this ?" She said in a stern voice. I knew i couldn't win. I would have to tell her.
"It. Well. It was, him." I Whispered. A tear slid dow my cheek at the thought of what he did.
"Him, whats th- oh my god. It was Dug. Wasnt it. You just wait till i see him, i'll give him a piece of my mind." I closed my eyes, i knew this was how she would react. When i opened my eyes again she had her favorite vase in her hand, she threw it towards the floor i shuddered when i heard the glass shatter into a million pieces. She screamed then fell to the floor and broke into tears.
"Allie, come on, its okay, come over here." I said softly. She crawled over and cried into my chest.
"Shhh it's going to be alright babe, everything is going to be okay."
I had never seen Allie so angry and upset before. She had carried me up to her bedroom and changed me into one of her night gowns, she lay me down in her soft bed and put the sheets over me, she knelt down and pushed my hair behind my ear before kissing me on the head and walking towards the door.
"You don't have to do this Allie." I sighed, knowing there was no point in saying that, there was nothing that was going to stop her from caring for me.
