Last Breath - Chapter 15
-Annie's P.O.V-
My whole body ached. I could hear someone talking. It sounded something like;
"She's still out, but her heart beat is stable." Who was still out ?
Wait, are they talking about me? No matter how much I tried, my eyes wouldn't open. The last thing I remember is dancing with Taylor at the party, one minute I was dancing, the next everything was black. With every second, my senses were coming back. Instead of everything I heard being muffled, I could hear perfectly again. Some one was talking about how there shouldn't of been alcohol at the party. It sounded like my dad. My sense of smell was improving. I gathered I was in a hospital, because wherever I was it smelt like a hospital, all hygienic and clean. My body wasn't numb any more, and the where the vein was in my elbow, was extremely sore and itchy. My eyes felt lighter, and I knew I could open them if I wanted to. My throat felt extremely dry. I took a deep breath and slowly opened my eyes.
"Oh god Annie, are you ok?" Taylor sighed tightening his grip on my hand and resting his forehead on mine.
"I... Need.... A drink." I wheezed. Every breath I took burned my throat. Taylor nodded and picked up a glass of water from the table next to my bed. He put it to my lips and the cold liquid flowed through me. The burning in my throat cooled.
"What happened?" I asked in a quiet voice.
"You fainted, at the party, I called an ambulance and came up with you. Allie and Emma are ill because of how much they drank and they went home, so its just me, Aiden and your father here."
A red haired nurse walked in and smiled at me.
"I see your awake sweetheart, we've sent your blood tests down to the lab, and we're just waiting for the results. Now, your boyfriend said you had been drinking, do you know how much you drank sweetie?" She questioned with a smile.
"Em, a bottle of vodka, 3 cans of lager and a couple of shots. I think." I sighed.
"Ah well, you may of just passed out due to the alcohol you had, but I'll come and see you as soon as your results have come through." She flashed her perfectly white teeth at me before leaving the cubical.
"You scared me." Taylor whispered.
"Sorry." I replied, frowning slightly.
"I'm proud of you Taylor." My dad replied with truth and respect showing in his eyes.
"What for?" Taylor asked, his gaze never leaving mine.
"Well you did the right thing, you carried her out of the way of all the people, you took her straight outside, you kept her warm while waiting for the ambulance, you constantly checked for her pulse, and to see if she was breathing, and you didn't crack under pressure, you called an ambulance straight away without a second thought. Anyone else would have probably called me and asked what to do. But you didn't. If it wasn't for you Annie could of hit her head and died." My dad smiled proudly. Taylor blushed immediately and smiled a little.
"Thanks." He whispered.
"You did all that, for me?" I asked wide eyed.
"Yes. I love you Annie, I'd do anything for you."
"Thank you." I grinned. Taylor placed his forehead back against mine.
"Since you, well saved my sister, and did the right thing, and you've proven yourself, I give you my blessing. And I'm sorry that I didn't like you before. I just heard you were a player, and I didn't want you playing my sister." Aiden said looking down at his feet and twiddling his thumbs.
