You may have heard about The Seven Archetypes, they are what I call a pathway through a story. I don't believe I have much to say when I talk about these archetypes, so, I will just tell you.
* Overcoming the Monster - When a character has something that is threatening him/her or the world and the character has to fight the monster to overcome it in the end.
* Rags to Riches - This is almost completely self-explanatory, it is when someone with little to nothing and has something happen to bring them up to a higher standing point and in the end, they either fall hard or they stay 'rich'.
* The Quest - The main character is set out on a journey in order to fight for a cause or to gain some sort of positive result for himself/herself, the journey would be long and very eventful.
* Voyage and Return - In this, it is very similar to 'The Quest' but in this, the character would go outside of his/her natural shell in order to return home or to stay in the new environment.
* Comedy - Normally this is about chaos that is funny, either by mistaking identity, or being confused or misunderstood.
*Tragedy - This story has a strong correlation towards 'Romeo and Juliet', it is mainly about growing the story just for it to tear your heart out and stomp on it because the ending is just tragic.
*Rebirth - The character enters the story one person, and a journey comes along for this character and it changes him/her into this whole different person. It could be a negative transition or a positive transistion but the main point is for the character to be almost completely different than fromt he beginning.
