Headmaster Archie:
Students filed into the courtyard staring at the intricately decorated yard for their first ceremony. I stood on the side of the row of 16 chairs each colored to their element. I held onto my note cards nervously as they took a seat, the isle for the team captains was clear. It was the next day, the healer gave me clearance after all the students were healed.
The matches were intense, this was a strong group of kids this year. Maybe things will get better, the demons were getting closer to citizens. More and more people were dying each day from demon attacks and we can't train people fast enough.
"Everyone quiet down, the ceremony is beginning now." Lady Thana announced with a steady look.
She would be my new assistant helping me with discipline and monitoring the school. I closed my eyes and nodded to Lady Thana.
"Welcome students, to your first ceremony. Today we will be congratulating your team leaders for winning the tournaments." I said and many of them clapped.
"First up is air team leader, Aria Brisa." I announced.
A youthful girl appeared from the hallway wearing a short silver and white dress that reached her thigh, the rest was covered in black knee socks and silver slip on shoes. On her head was a black round hat that left her hair cascading down her shoulders.
I nodded in approval as she curtseyed before me and I grabbed the pendent gently placing it around her neck.
A shiny pearl sat delicately in a silver case going very nicely to her pale skin. I had spent much time planning out these pendants making sure they were perfect. I bowed my head motioning for her to sit in the grey throne like chair besides me.
"Next is Ray Vienna, team leader two." I announced and gave her a similar pendent.
"Secondly is Maya Ramiel for the storm element." I said and a tall girl with bronze skin began to walk down the aisle confidently.
She was wearing a dark purple two piece, her top half was a sheer crop top that connected to a choker on her neck. Her long legs were hidden by a long purple skirt with a slit on the side up to her thigh. She had a regal look about her that interested me, part of her hair was styled on top of her head while the rest curled down her back.
She curtseyed her green eyes glowing as I placed the pendant around her neck. It was a purple amethyst set in a pretty gold frame hugging the gem. The pendants were simple but they stood for something much more, they earned these.
"Thank you" she whispered taking her seat in the purple chair.
I repeated the same process with Tempest watching as they hugged Maya taking his seat next to her.
"Next up is Kenn Coventina."
I watched his walk up in shock, so this is the son of the infamous Coventina assassin's? His eyes flickered around nervously as he made his way to me. He was wearing a light blue button up and dark pants. His hair was neatly combed and he bowed his head allowing me to place the blue lapis pendant around his neck set in a bright white case.
He bowed again as his fellow students cheered for him and I couldn't stop my smile. Each of the students were showing such great support for each other and that made my nervousness disappear.
I called the other team leader up watching arrogant looking blonde boy ignore Kenn and sit down.
I shook my head and smiled again, this kid was certainly talented. I've never seen someone with the ability to burst into full body flames.
