Luca POV:
"Luca this is a solo mission for the Light mages only." I nodded at Ms.Celeste.
"We will be heading to an area full of injured and sick people. Our mission is to heal them and protect them from enemy forces." The bus came to a screeching halt.
"Get down students!" She yelled.
Ms. Celeste raised her hand and created a shield around the bus as a bomb came crashing into us.
"Is everyone alright." We collectively said yes.
"Good... Now let's get to work." We all quickly ran off the bus.
"There is a base where I'll meet you... Good luck students." Ms. Celeste disappeared in a ray of light.
"Okay guys we can do this... No matter what keep going." They all nodded and followed me.
Ms.Celeste sent the directions to me through mind magic.
"LOOK OUT!" Ray yelled.
All my senses went into overdrive and I ran in front of the missile and put my hand out. I could feel energy shoot through my hand causing the rocket to explode.
I look back at everyone's shocked face. I smiled facing them.
"Is everyone okay?"
Everyone slowly nodded their head in amazement.
"Come on, we still have to continue the mission." They quickly got up and followed.
Several missiles headed for us, but I easily blocked them from hitting my team. I felt my energy start to dip but we finally reached the medic tents. Surgeons, nurses and light mages were scrambling everyone trying to save everyone. Unfortunately there wasn't enough hands or trained professionals but with us we could help.
"Try to heal injured soldiers as we make our way to the medic tent." They nodded. Everyone ran to the various tents, flashes of light filling the area.
We healed as many men as possible before making it to the ICU tent. Light mages panted in exhaustion as bodies piled up to get healed. The healed patients hurried to pass out water and energy bars out to the workers, the fatigue getting to them.
"Well done class and a special congratulations to Luca for unlocking a new power." Mrs. Celeste said and slipped off a pair of gloves.
"Now to complete your mission you must bring someone from the brink of death. This may not be possible for all of you and that's okay. Go over to the critical tent and try your hardest."
We headed to the critical tent and I picked a little girl who was caught in this war. She was holding a charred teddy bear. She was bleeding out fast and at this rate she wouldn't make it. Demons must have invaded her village and drove the mages and soldiers here.
"It's okay... I'm here to help you. What's your name sweety?" I said and gently laid my hand on hers. Her life force was waning way to fast for regular doctors to save her.
"M-my names A-angel...please help me..." She cried.
My heart ached for her. A little girl shouldn't be trapped in a war filled with demons. God knows what happened to her parents, she was all alone here.
I hovered my hands over her and a bright light began to surround her. I could feel it healing her, but not enough to save her. I poured all my energy into healing her and it still wasn't enough. The more energy I poured the weaker I was getting and it was barely making a dent.
"I can help." A voice said while putting their hand on mine. I looked up to these beautiful blue eyes.
"I'm Sam." He smiled. His blonde hair fell in front of his eye as the warmth from his hand spread to my cheeks.
