I rolled out of bed with a groan and tossed the blankets off of my legs with a sigh. I glanced at the time and mentally prepared for the day. I have less than an hour to get ready and go to class.
I glanced over at my roommate who was already getting dressed.
"Next time don't let me sleep in" I joked grabbing my clothes to take a shower.
Quickly I hopped out pulling on the black jeans and t-shirt looking at the time.
"Shoot!" I exclaimed sliding my ring on my finger.
I grabbed my shoes and held them in my hand as I ran through the hallways to the storm classroom and snapped entering inside.
Everyone stared in confusion as I panted heavily heading to my seat in the front on team 1's section. Tempest smiled at me shaking his head as I pulled my sneakers on.
"You know you could have taken the day off?" A quiet voice said.
I glanced over at the boy who almost got killed by a zombie yesterday. I nodded, I could have but I have a team to lead.
"I bet you'd want to huh Carson? Couldn't even kill a single zombie alone." A kid sneered from the back and the boy dropped his head.
My eyes narrowed in annoyance as I stood up walking up to the kid leaning over him.
"I don't know why you're saying anything when you couldn't kill one even with an entire group. Tempest had to come save you while Carson was off helping people like he was supposed to." I said and he stared at me with shock.
"Alright Maya settle down" The teacher said with a smile as I headed back to my seat smiling at Carson.
"So firstly I want to commend you both for completing your missions yesterday. Especially team 1 who cleared the outbreak all alone without any help" She said bowing her head to me.
I nodded feeling prideful, I was proud of my team. They were growing in skill and soon when we go out on another mission they'll be able to be alone.
"So since everyone in the school performed their missions so well, the headmaster decided to let you out today to enjoy yourselves. I called you here because I want to warn you, not everyone is accepting of magic and teaching it. Please be careful out there and don't spend too much money." She said dismissing us.
I exited the classroom shaking my head, so I ran all the way here just for her to tell us we have no classes today?
"Hey Maya!" Tempest called running up to me.
I turned and smiled trying to forget about all the time and energy I just wasted.
"So I was thinking about heading outside and doing some shopping, would you come with me?" Tempest asked.
I paused for a moment trying to think of any reason not to go, well I have nothing so let's go.
"Alrighty, I meet you outside then. I need to grab my wallet from my room first." I said and hurried off.
Once I got what I needed we headed outside dispersing into the crowd exiting the school. We entered the large market place in shock.
