"So obviously, we are waiting for Kaitlain Cassidy and Rachel right Paige?" Scarlet asks as she takes a seat on Paige's red leather couch.

"Well so it seems." Paige walks over to the mini bar "Can I offer you girls a drink? Martini?"

"I don't drink." Courtney says curtly as she sits next to Scarlet on the couch and crosses her legs. "Besides, isn't it too early to get drunk?" She looks at Paige and Scarlet wearily.

"Yes true and don't get me wrong Courtney, I am not a drinker either but I am too tense so I think I will get one to calm my nerves." Paige pours herself a drink from the martini bottle into a glass.

"Well pour me a glass too Paige. Unlike Courtney here" Scarlet eyes Courtney "I believe that it is never too early to start having fun."

"I will just have a coke Paige and Scarlet, we are not here to have fun. We are here to discuss something very serious." Courtney reprimands and Scarlet rolls her eyes.

"You're such a bummer Court!" Scarlet leans back into her chair and sighs "Have some fun for once and stop being so damn uptight."

"There is a right time for that Scarlet and this is certainly not that time." Courtney continues.

"Say what you want mom, it doesn't matter because I will do what I want anyway." Scarlet looks directly into Courtney's steel blue eyes as if daring her to protest further. Courtney backs down.

"Scarlet, here is your drink." Paige hands the glass over to Scarlet and then attempts to break the underlying tension between the two best friends "So how long will it take before Kaitlain Cassidy and Rachel get here?"

"Not much longer I am sure. Rachel texted Scarlet to tell her that they are already on their way here." Courtney looks towards Paige a bit more sternly, her golden brows narrowing "Paige, are we alone here?" she asks in a near whisper.

"Yes, my family hardly comes here except on weekend vacations and we haven't had one of those in at least three years but everyone in the family has a key to this place. Just in case of any emergencies."

"Yeah, your country house is cool actually. It feels peaceful."

"I guess so." Paige offers a distant smile. "I think Kaitlain Cassidy and Rachel are here now. I will go and meet them. So I'll be right back. Oh and Courtney, as for your coke, there isn't any so just have water instead. The glasses are in the cupboard and just get water from the sink."  Paige begins to walk away.

"Thank you." Courtney calls after her and stands up to walk towards the cupboard.

"You know Courtney, you should really have some fun sometime." Scarlet taunts.

"Yeah well excuse me but unfortunately Scarlet, that is not my nature. Oh and try not to get too drunk. We actually need you sober."

"Whatever!" Scarlet says more to herself than Courtney really.

"Hello Courtney, Scarlet." Rachel waves as she comes in followed by Kaitlain Cassidy and Paige.

"Okay people, let's get right down to business!" Kaitlain Cassidy calls as she remains standing.

"Hello everyone. How have you been? Great Kaitlain and you?" Scarlet says sarcastically "You know Kaitlain, that's the first thing you're supposed to say instead of being so serious. That's Courtney's job you know."
