Around 11am, Courtney visited her father's Law Firm to get some very important documents for her Law School application.
Richard Almonte, Courtney's father is the most prominent Lawyer in Lakewood. In fact, the Almonte's have been a Lawyer family for as long as anybody - the oldest residents in Lakewood - can remember. It is in the Almonte blood and the Almonte's would really prefer to keep it that way.
Even Courtney's mother was and still is a lawyer. It is even rumoured that the marriage of Courtney's parents wasn't a love marriage but instead, arranged by Courtney's grandparents who wanted to keep law as a profession in the genes.
If that is true then it would really explain why Courtney's parents never approved of Justin even though Courtney and Justin have been together for years and also why her mother has tried several times to pair her up with men that are aspiring or established lawyers.
Courtney tried not to think about whether the 'law and marriage' clause was real or not but deep in her heart, she knew that it wasn't too far from the truth. Even Rodney, Courtney's elder brother is in Law School now and set to graduate any time soon.
Once Courtney got the documents she needs from her father's secretary as her father is apparently busy with someone in his office, Courtney is delayed and has to go see her father's sister Vivian (also a lawyer).
Courtney eventually finishes her long talk with her aunt and grabs the documents and her bag and heads over to her black Lexus where a certain surprise is waiting for her; Lucas Bradley.
"So I was right sweetheart." Lucas muses, his back pressed firmly against Courtney's black Lexus as he shoots her a half grin with his hands tucked into his trouser pockets. His blue shirt is also tucked perfectly into trousers, making him look professional but in a casual way and not over done.
"Lucas.." Courtney breathes out, his name on her lips sounding cold as she stops in front of her car to stare at him wondering why on earth he was leaning so casually against something she owned "Are you stalking me?" Courtney raises an eyebrow at him, uncertainty coursing through her.
"Of course not!" Lucas denies flatly, his face squeezing together in fake hurt.
"And right about what?" Courtney clutches to her documents tighter while looking away from Lucas and going through her bag, searching for her car keys.
"That this little beauty right here is yours." Lucas taps against the side of Courtney's Lexus in emphasis, his grey eyes glinting with admiration at the beautiful car before him.
"Lucas, what do you want?" Courtney grabs her key from her bag and loops it around her fore finger before facing Lucas squarely, her face straight and humourless.
"Well, I want you..." Lucas begins, his eyes scanning over Courtney's frame as he winks at her, lips set in a coy smile "But for now, I guess I can settle for a ride."
"And that is exactly why we have cabs. You can call a cab company to pick you up because as for me, I really have to go." Courtney states, brushing past Lucas and trying to open her car door but Lucas quickly grabs her arm, bringing her to a halt and causing the documents within her arms to almost spill over as she turns instantly to look at him "Let me go!" Courtney demands, her teeth gritted as she forces her blue eyes to remain cold against Lucas.
"You can just drop me off on your way to wherever it is you are going." Lucas negotiates, his eyes dancing around Courtney's irritated expression while still tightening his hand against her arm.
