Courtney quickly whips around as she feels her blood run cold.
"Lucas!" Courtney says in complete disbelief, her heart pounding.
Courtney stares at Lucas who has an innocent smirk on his face as she wills her heartbeat to slow down. It was him; Lucas Bradley.
Lucas Bradley, he still looked the same as the guy that broke Courtney's heart all those years ago, like he never changed. Even in that blue-black suit, his grey eyes still shined. Those were the very eyes Courtney used to find herself lost in every time they were together.
He was still taller than her, even in her stilettos, her head stopped at his ear. Lucas's hair was the only thing that looked different. His once wavy blonde hair was now smoothe and straightened out making him look more mature. He still looked dashing. In fact, he looked even more dashing now.
"The one and only." Lucas stares at her as the smirk remains, his eyes looking over her surprised expression, the close contact comforting him while in contrast, scaring her.
"B-but what are you doing back in L-Lakewood?" Courtney stutters as she tries to regain her composure. This guy was definitely unnerving her "Last time I checked, you left town close to four years ago."
"Yeah, well Courtney sweetheart, now I am back and trust me, it's for good." Lucas smiles mischievously as he winks at Courtney causing a scowl to appear on her shocked features. The room suddenly felt too hot for Courtney, her black dress suddenly felt like it was hugging her body too tight. She felt tense.
"Why are you back?" Courtney stares at him as her face turns a bright pink.
Courtney Almonte had thought about a lot of things these four years. She had considered a lot of possibilities. Too many even. Like the whole Becca thing blowing up in her face, being sent to jail, being disowned even Justin cheating on her like Lucas had but one possibility she never considered was Lucas coming back or the wrecking ball of emotions that would confront her when he did.
"Let's just say I have some unfinished business with this lovely little town we call Lakewood." Lucas says smiling.
"What kind of unfinished business?" Courtney inquires. What would make him come back? What was so important? Courtney wondered.
"Woahh Courtney calm down." Lucas raises his arms innocently in the air "Your questioning is getting intense."
"Sorry." Courtney looks over him reminding herself not to get ahead of herself "but still, answer."
"Okay. Well.." Lucas begins, his voice suddenly solemn "You."
"Me?" Courtney looks at him startled, taking a step back in the process "What do you mean?"
"I mean I came back for you." He takes a step closer to her and stares into her seductive blue eyes. His eyes linger on them for a while causing Courtney to tense up again and then he suddenly moves away from Courtney and walks towards the refrigerator.
"What do you mean you came back for me?" Courtney demands "We are over, remember?" Courtney looks in his direction as he opens the fridge, her look attempting to be serious but failing somewhat.
"So sweetheart, can I offer you some coke?" Lucas looks over to her, a generous smile crossing his features "I remember it used to be your favorite drink."
