After what seemed like hours, Levi stood up.
“I’m going to get you some food,” he said. “Do you eat fish?”
I shook my head and made a face.
“What then?”
“Seaweed usually. Sometimes fruit.”
“I can get you some fruit,” Levi said and he left.
A few minutes later, Levi returned with a plate of fruit. I saw berries, an apple and bananas. I started eating.
Levi walked towards the closet and put on different clothes. Then he sat down on the bed. When I had finished the plate, he gestured for me to place my head on his lap again. If I sat down on the edge, I could do that and still have my tail in the water. After a couple of minutes Levi started asking me questions.
“What determines the color of your tail?”
I looked at my tail. It was greenish with a few golden scales. “DNA,” I said. “my father has a black tail, but my mother’s is green, just like mine.”
“I like yours, It’s beautiful. It matches your eyes.”
I smiled, but he couldn’t see it.
“Do you have brothers or sister?”
“I have an adoptive sister, her name is Mikasa. We adopted her when he parents died.”
“How did they die?”
I waited a while before I answered. “Pirates.”
Levi stayed quiet.
“The group killed them afterwards.”
“Are they going to kill us, too?”
I shook my head. “Not as long as I’m alive and on the ship. The won’t risk hurting me.”
“I promise me and my crew won’t kill anybody of your group.”
“Thank you,” I said.
Levi sighed. “You should probably go to sleep,” Levi said.
“You’re the one who’s tired,” I said.
“I can’t keep anything from you, can I?”
I laughed. “No.”
I went back into the water.
“Goodnight, Eren,” Levi said.
“Goodnight.”
I laid down on the bottom of the tub. I soon was asleep again.
