Manik
I jogged up to my room and shut the door behind me. Sighing I walked to my window. It was evening now. The sky was covered with light shades of orange and pink. As month of February was running, it was too cold for its own good. I love this weather. You have to do is just wrap yourself in a thick blanket and jump on the comfy bed and drift off to peaceful sleep.
I settled myself on window sill which was wide enough that two people can easily sit and chill while having the perfect view of small jungle which is at the backyard of our mansion. As my room in upstairs, this window had grill covered with glass sliding door attached to it, so that nobody could fall out of the window even if two freaking kids went jumping all day on this window sill. Yes. Back our childhood, me and Mukti used to do that.
It's our favourite and not to forget a sneaking/hiding spot. Whenever our mommy ran behind us for making us drink that karele(bitter gourd) ka juice, we would always run here and sat on the grill and shut the sliding door from outside. And we would hide there even in winter season not caring about the weather.
First day we went to hide there our mothers couldn't find us anywhere. They got panicked and immediately called our dads home. Then all were on the mission - 'finding Manik and mukti'.
They didn't call the police because they were sure that we hided somewhere in the house only because the front door was locked and back then we weren't tall enough to open it as we were only 5(Mukti) and 6(Manik) yrs old.
The situation seemed so hiralous to us that we started laughing like maniacs hiding in there. Unfortunately dad was searching for us in my room that time, he opened the sliding door and found us sitting on the grill while laughing holding our stomachs. But not to forget, for that prank we got a nice punishment of drinking that yucky juice.
And of course it was our favourite spot because whenever me and Mukti wanted to talk as in ourselves, that was the best place.
The sliding door was already open so I turned myself to the outer side and rest my feet on the surface of grill. My back was facing my room now.
I smiled at the weather again. Our family was too much into nature lovers that we used our backyard for transforming it into a mini jungle.
And this is our spot for heart to heart talks. Mukti and me would talk about ourselves over here.
My mind again drifted to marriage thing. Its a short word to pronounce but holds a huge meaning in anyone's life.
Marriage is a bond between two people who tie knot to spend their whole life together. To share every happiness, sorrow, worries, pain, moments together. They stand by each others side no matter what, in hard times too.
