Chapter 16- too much sexual tension

~Comp details below~

“Ashley?” Only one person called me that and could get away with it. The voice still rings in my head from years ago and I feel like I’m imagining everything. I feel like I’m in a dream and this whole day has just happened inside my head so soon I will wake up and be back in my bed in Canada with Scar tapping on the window for me to get out of bed and dressed to go out.

The man standing in front of me has the same brown hair and his eyes have flecks of gold throughout them. Now I feel like I’m hallucinating or something because this is impossible. I look to my side to see Kolton looking from me to the man wide eyed and mouth agape. “Am I dreaming?” I whisper to him and he just shakes his head; still in his shocked position.

“Dad?” I blink. I don’t even know what I’m feeling; it’s a mix I suppose. Love, hate, confusion, sadness and anger all swirl around my head like a broken record on play.

“What are you even doing here?” He asked me with confusion laced through every word, every letter of his sentence.

“I moved because mum wanted new scenery for her art career. I thought you were dead.” I bite down on my bottom lip “You never came home that night and I thought you died.” I finished and I didn’t realise I was crying until dad put his hand up to my face and wiped a tear from my cheek with his warm calloused fingers. He hasn’t changed much in 6 years except he looks only a little bit older.

“I never died Ashley, I disappeared so they would think I was dead and would leave you alone so you would be safe.” He smiled down warmly at me. I didn’t realise how much I missed his hugs until I wrapped my arms around his stomach and hugged him like I was 9 again.

“I missed you so much.” I said through a whisper and let go of him to look back at him.

“I missed you too Ashley.” He soothed in a fatherly way and pulled me in for a hug then tapped my head like he used to always. “So who’s this?” He grinned at Kolton with a raised eyebrow when we got out of the hug.

“It’s Kolton.” I shrugged.

“So am I meant to buy a shotgun or just use my fists?” Dad smirked.

“No he’s just an acquaintance.” I said and Kolton scowled at me.

“So I bought you ice-cream and dropped you home once and I’m an acquaintance?”  I got an agitated sigh from Kolton.

“Yep because you bought me ice-cream because you made mine melt and you offered to drive me home. Anyways you’re mean to innocent kids where as I’m not.” I looked pointedly at Kolton while he glared at me.

“So how’s Nate?” Dad asked to try and interrupt our little argument that may or may not have ended up with us throwing punches and kicking each other.

At the mention of Nate my eyes started to water. Dad had been gone so long that he didn’t even know I was the black Dragon. He of course knew Nate before but didn’t know he was killed by Mike. “He died in a fight. A guy went overboard one night in the circle at the Alley and killed him.” I sniffled.

“He was such a good kid though.” Dad sighed and shook his head with sadness.

“We have a lot to catch up on so let’s go and sit down.” I smiled and I nodded eagerly at dad’s words “Are you coming Kolton?” Kolton nodded in response to the question and followed us back into the ice-cream shop.

“My first question is why did you disappear and why did you come here?” I questioned.

“Well I wanted to get away from a Man called mike-” He started but I cut him off.
