I pleasantly woke up to the smell of breakfast. My brain was fuzzy, and I could barely think straight. This is the feeling I've missed for a long time. The feeling of peacefully waking up. I kinda just wanted to lay there for a while, but I knew I'd have to get up, so I stretched out my arms and legs, (cracking most of those areas) yawned and made my way to the bathroom. I didn't find RoseMary there, so I brushed my teeth and hair, washed my face and hustled downstairs.

"Morning, bed head." Era greeted me quickly. She was standing at the stove, flipping pancakes, while Kyle was making eggs. I smiled cheerfully and responded, "Morning."

"Morning." Kyle chirped. I could tell he was smiling. I sat down at the counter as RoseMary walked in.

"Hi, everybody!" She smiled. I turned and smiled at her and she came to sit with me. She winked and her smile faded.

"This is crazy." She mouthed.

"I know." I mouthed back. So she felt the same way? Like she wasn't supposed to be here? Huh...

I didn't have time to think as I was distracted by Era and Kyle getting some plates and stuffing them with breakfast food. I was starving, and I ate hastily, not even paying any attention to anything but what I was eating. I didn't think, I just enjoyed the food. It was a long line of silence as RoseMary and I ate. I was in the middle of stuffing my face with toast when Era began explaining.

"So, I know you girls are wondering why you're here. Well, I'd say it's a simple fact, but if I did, I'd be lying. It's a very complicated fiction..." She began. It was like she was speaking in tongues. She lost me at lying. But, that was probably because I noticed she had brewed some coffee in a mug or something, she wasn't eating. Neither was Kyle, he was sipping on something dark that was steaming in his teal-colored mug. I remember how much food they had cooked, and realized it was enough for a whole party. I looked down at my huge plate and saw only two grapes left.

"What do you mean it's a complicated fiction?" RoseMary asked.

"I mean, you probably won't believe me if I told you the truth." Era said as she put down her mug and flipped her hair.

I swallowed my toast in one huge gulp and asked, "So, what's the truth?"

"I don't mean to throw everything on you," Kyle butted in, putting down his mug, "but it has to be done. Otherwise this will take too long and you'll ask too many questions," I glanced over at Era as she rolled her eyes. and shook her head, "Basically, you two are the mates of werewolves, Era and I are vampire mates, and you have to live with us because you'll be turning into werewolves soon." Kyle said it like it was nothing.

I laughed.

I laughed hard. If I had had something in my mouth, I probably would have choked and killed myself. I doubled over in laughter, and soon RoseMary joined me. I glanced up at Era and Kyle, they were both looking at us like we were crazy. In my opinion, they were the crazy ones. Oh my gosh, so that's the big secret? Werewolves!? I laughed even harder at the thought. Werewolves and vampires!? What kind of crazy prank is this!?

Soon I calmed myself down and finished my grapes, chuckling every now and then. RoseMary fallowed after me and, as I looked at her, she got up off the floor.

"So, what is the truth?" RoseMary asked as she sat down. I had to cover my mouth in order not to start the laughing fest again. It took Era a while to answer. She was looking between all of us. From RoseMary to me to Kyle.

"That... that was it." She stuttered, "The-they'll be home later today."

I just sat there, not fully understanding what just happened. But, I guess I'll find out.

After breakfast, I went back upstairs, took a shower, and got dressed. The rest of the day I relaxed. I ended up finding some body makeup and putting it in the bruises so they wouldn't be seen. I painted my nails, experimented with makeup for the first time in my life, and swam in the pool. It was strange to think, 'cause every time I did, my mind went right back to breakfast.

I'm a werewolves mate? What am I supposed to do, come to his beck and call? Be his servant for the rest of my life? I had no clue, but I always thought a werewolves' mate was like a married couple sort of a thing, like a soul mate, love at first sight... No. No, no, no, no, no, no!! I don't even believe in that love stuff! Why would I? I've never experienced real love... Not even the family kind. Maybe the friendship kind with RoseMary, but that's it. Not even at the orphanage! Those other kids hated me. Despised me! I was the outcast, the loner. Not even the adults, they were just there to make sure I didn't get into trouble. They hated their jobs, they were happy to see me leave. Leave with that disgusting man...

And now I'm the mate of a werewolf? I mean, come on! Who would believe that? They aren't even real! Nor are vampires! But, if werewolves were real, wouldn't they have other werewolf mates? I mean, it doesn't make sense for a werewolf to have a human as a mate. But then Kyle's words hit me. You'll be turning into werewolves soon. Really?

It was late when I was about ready to take another shower and go to bed. I was resting in my bed when I herd the front door open, screaming girls, and then I herd the door close and muffled screams. I scrunched my face. What was going on?

"WE'RE HOME!" I herd a boy yell. I walked out of my room quietly, at the same time RoseMary did.

"What's happening?" She whispered. I shrugged my shoulders. We slowly crept downstairs.

"Oh, here they come now. Jasper, RoseMary meet Christopher and Cedric." Era smiled as RoseMary and I emerged from the hallway.

For a split second, my mind went blank. I felt almost like I was in a dreamless sleep or a coma or maybe even I was dead. But then I felt everything. I looked into his eyes and the world stopped. I don't know how to describe this. It was at that second something exploded in my heart. My brain went numb. It was either I was feeling everything or nothing. And he was staring right back, the same feeling could almost be felt vibrating off of him. It was just him and me, nothing else.  It was overwhelming. We both tore our eyes away at the same time, unable to take it anymore.

The wold came back, things felt real again. But I never realized I was holding my breath until it came out in a loud gust and I was breathing heavily. My knees were so unstable that I actually fell to the ground, clutching my chest and breathing hard. I was shaking violently.

"See? Don't I do a good job?" Era broke the silence.

"You found her..." The other boy, the one I didn't stare at, sighed like he was in another world. That was when RoseMary fell beside me. I looked over at her, she had gone pale. I could tell she'd felt it.

"We found them in a cafe. In Detroit. Together." Kyle said. I couldn't find my voice. I wanted to speak, to ask what this ment, but my mouth wasn't connected to my brain.

"Can I explain?" He asked. It was more of a question toward me, but I think it was ment for Era. Era didn't answer, so I guess it was for me. I didn't aprove of it, but I nodded. My brain and the rest of my body were off sink.

He slowly walked over and helped me up. He led me upstairs to my room, holding my hand the whole time. His hand was really warm. Not sweaty warm, but he was really warm. He closed the door behind us.

"I guess I have lots of explaining to do..."
