It's been two days into the thanksgiving break and I still haven't heard from Cas. In the letter, he said he would give a full explanation and talk to me about it sometime during the break, on one condition; I wouldn't tell anyone about it. I texted him I wouldn't right after the letter. He still hasn't replied.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. My heart jumped and imagined it was Cas, ready to talk, ready to give me all the answers. I felt very nervous, and wondered if I even wanted the answers.

I opened the door and standing in front of me was a six foot tall moose of a human being. I instantly felt better.

"Sammy!" I said, opening my arms into a hug. Once he pulled away, I could see my parents walking  towards us.

"Mom, dad, I haven't seen you in forever..." I hugged each of them, then asked "Wait...where's Adam?"

They each looked at each other, not really answering my question. Adam is our half brother from our dad, who had him while he was in high school with another woman. "Don't say you forgot him again, Sam." I joked. When we were kids, me and Sam were like partners and crime, we never left each other's sides. Adam was often times forgotten.

"He's staying with his mom this year." Mom finally answered.

"That's too bad," I started to say as we sat down, "he's gonna miss out on my awful teacher stories."

"Still don't know why you chose that profession," Sam admitted, " the only child you've ever dealt with was me, and I know I was a son of a bitch."

Mom shot him a look but said nothing. Dad laughed.

"You were not a bitch to raise," he said "a little trouble here and there once you got older, a bit of a talking back problem-"

"Not like you didn't deserve that..." Sam mumbled.

"There he is!" Dad chuckled. "We don't have to deal with that anymore, though."

"Poor Gabriel." Mom teased.

"Gabriel?" I questioned. "Who is that?"

Sam groaned, as if he'd already had this conversation a thousand times. "My fiance."

"...and how did I not know about this?"

"We didn't either." mom said, shooting Sam yet another look, "I swear, you were always so secretive." she rolled her eyes.

"As if we were gonna crucify you for it." Dad added.

Mom suddenly smiled. "What about you, sweetie? You have a girlfriend we don't know about?"

I sighed. You have no idea, I thought. "No mom, no girlfriend."

"Shame. I want grandkids, preferably before I die."

Later on, both mom and dad left to make it back to the hotel. Sammy decided to stay to catch up.

"I'll get the beers." I volunteered.

Just then, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it." Sam got up.

He opened the door as I grabbed the case of beers. "I need to talk to Dean." Said a deep voice.

I froze right where I was, almost dropping the beer from my hand. Really? I thought, Now?

"Uh, Dean?" Sam called.

I stuttered on my words for a moment, setting the case down on the table. "Yeah, he can come in."

Castiel sat down on the couch, looking uncomfortable.

Sam cleared his throat, sensing the tension. "I'll uh, give you the room..."

After Sam was out of sight, I stood in front of Castiel with my arms crossed. "Yes?"

"I owe you an explanation." he avoided my eyes.

"Yeah, you're damn you do." I snapped.

He took a deep breath, then spoke. "Ben never lied. We were college sweethearts and started going out freshman year. I really, really liked him, but I could tell he liked me more. He moved so fast, Dean, and I was so insecure, and he made me feel better about myself because he liked me so much... so I went along with everything. Even when he proposed after I graduated and I knew I wasn't ready, I said yes." he paused. "I love him...but I might not be in love with him. But he makes me happy...fuck, everything is so goddamn confusing."  he buried his face in his hands.

I finally sat down next to him. "So, what?" I asked in a hushed voice, remembering Sam is in the next room. "You think you might be in love with me?"

"No...but...you are so much different than Ben. I just get a different feeling from you, and it's so good, and that scares me." he moved in closer to me.

I swallowed. "There's no need to be scared." I whispered.

He closed the gap between us, softly kissing me. I kissed back and slowly brought my hand to cup the back of his neck. We were like that for a while. Something inside me sparked in my chest. Something that felt...really nice. This was so much better than our first kiss.

He finally pulled away. "I have to go." he breathed, standing up quickly.

"Um, okay?"

I opened the door for him, and before closing it behind him he stopped. "I'll see you at school."

"Yeah, see you then."
