Jon's POV:

I got back to my hotel room, closing the door and letting my tears fall. Renee was right.

'It won't be long before someone else takes her away from you. You need to go and take her back before you lose her forever.'

I lost her. It's too late. I took too long and now, she's someone else's. Why did I have to be so stubborn? Maddison tried to get back with me but I pushed her away. I'm such an idiot.

I got a text from Colby, telling me to meet him at the park as he wanted to talk about a match that we were going to have together.

Sighing, I got up, grabbing my jacket. I needed to get out anyway. I needed to clear my head before I lost my mind. I left my room and went down to the lobby. I saw Maddison so I quickly speed walked outside.

Maddison's POV:

I didn't know why Jon had come to my room. But I wasn't with Nick because I liked him or anything. I asked him to come over so we could think of a way for Jon to take me back. He only helped me because he was sick and tired of Jon shouting at everyone in his path.

That was good enough for me. I think Jon got the wrong impression though. I was in the lobby trying to pull myself together. Nick left when Jon did. He apologized for everything but none of it was his fault.

I got a text from Joe telling me to meet him at the park. He wanted to talk about me and Jon so I grabbed my umbrella, since it looked like it was going to rain, and I left the hotel.

Jon's POV:

All I could think about was what I saw earlier. I couldn't believe Maddison forgot about me and moved on so quickly. I guess it was my fault though. I shouldn't have taken so long. I carried on walking when I felt a hand grab my wrist and turn me around to face them. Of course it was Maddison. Nobody except Joe and Colby were talking to me anymore.

"Jon, just listen to me before you say anything." Maddison said. "Nick wasn't in my room because we like each other or something. He was there because we were trying to come up with a way for me to win you back. The only reason why he was helping me was because he's sick of listening to you scream at everyone."

I didn't know if I could believe what Maddison just said. I was really hoping she wasn't making anything up. I took a few steps back, still looking at her.

"Jon, please!! I can't take this anymore." Maddison cried.

Just as I was about to say something, the sound of thunder was heard and it started to rain lightly, gradually getting heavier until soon enough, Maddison and I were both drenched. It started getting cloudier and darker as the rain continued pouring down. Maddison grabbed her umbrella and was trying to open it but it wouldn't open.

I was about to look away when I looked at Maddison. I couldn't help but notice how the water glistened as little droplets ran down her face. Drops of water ran and dropped from her nose and cheeks. Her blonde hair was flattened as it slowly got more and more wet. My eyes were locked on her and I couldn't look away.

Maddison was still struggling with her umbrella and it looked like she was starting to get frustrated. I began to slowly walk back towards her, not breaking eye contact. I put my hand on top of hers which was on the pole of the umbrella. She stopped struggling and turned to look at me.

I always did love her blue eyes. They always got me in a trance that I wished I would never come out of. I could feel my heart pounding like drums against my chest. Just touching Maddison's hand made me all warm inside.

Our eyes were locked to each other's for several minutes. We just couldn't look away. Soon enough, we forgot about the umbrella and let it fall to the floor, letting it fly away with the wind. Our hands were still together so I took the opportunity to properly hold her hand and intertwine our fingers.

I could feel the sparks between us as we held hands. The wind continued to blow, causing Maddison's hair to fly in front of her face. Her eyes closed as I used my other hand to gently move her hair and tucked it behind her ear. Maddison opened her eyes and we both carried on staring into each other's eyes.

I felt myself starting to lean in as Maddison did the same. As we were inches away, I closed my eyes and felt my lips on hers. There was something so heavenly about a kiss in the rain, a tender moment that just wouldn't wait. It was that burst of love that was expressed, not caring if the water soaks through to chill our skin. It was a connection that shows the strength of the feeling, the mutual need. It was a rebellion against the elements. Nature could bring the rain but our inner sunshine comes through just the same.

That kiss made me realize that Maddison was my one true love, and I couldn't let her go again.
