Chapter 17: Seto's New Cards

I woke up to Gozaburo shaking me. Begrudgingly, I sat up and glared at him.

"I'm just letting you know I want you to meet me outside the mansion when morning comes in front of the limo, Seto. Now go back to sleep." He said, and then walked away.

I wasn't happy that he had woken me up just to tell me that, but I fell asleep quickly once I had laid my head back down on my seat.

I was sound asleep when I thought I heard someone call my name. It only got louder.

"Hey Se-"

I sat up and saw Noah, who was looking at me from over the table.

"Father said he wanted to see you."

"Oh. Right." I muttered as I stood up and began walking past him.

"What did Father want?" He asked.

"Gozaburo said he wanted to take me somewhere today. He didn't say why or where he wanted to take me. Then he walked out of the library." I said, fists clenched as I walked past him, heading for the door of the library.

"Seto, there's something you should know about Father's education. It's very hard on a person. You will not be able to get many breaks." Noah said.

"I can already tell." I replied, then exited the room.

Soon, I was in the limo. I was expecting Gozaburo to already be in the limo waiting for me and being really impatient, but surprisingly, I was the first one in there.

It took him a while, but Gozaburo finally came out of the mansion and into the limo with me.

"Slowpoke." I thought as he sat next to me. An employee I didn't recognize sat in the driver's seat. All I could see was he had his hair in what looked like a mohawk of some kind. After he started the limo up and we backed out of the u-turned Kaiba mansion driveway, I turned a bit in my seat and looked out of the window.

Gozaburo didn't speak to me even once during the drive, so I stared out the window the entire time.

When he stopped the limo, we both got out and I saw we were in front of a game store. We walked inside, the bells on the door chiming once we walked in.

Cards! Duel Monsters cards were EVERYWHERE! I walked over to a stand in the middle of the store and took some cards off of it.

"Enjoy it while you can, Seto. While I was adopting you and and Mokuba, I looked over your information on your papers. Since I didn't finish, I began looking over the papers again yesterday. I learned that tomorrow is October twenty fifth, your birthday." Gozaburo said, and started walking away as he began checking out cards on a stand.

"Hey Gozaburo? Why did you take me here?" I asked.

"As an early birthday present, and also because we'll be doing something else for your birthday tomorrow." He replied, walking to a different stand.

I began to walk around the store as I looked at all the card stands. While walking around, I noticed one stand had an interesting card on it, and after getting closer to it, I picked up the card which was called 'Crush Card Virus'. I held onto it and looked for more cards. I even found something called Soul Demolition. It looked interesting, so I decided to keep it.

I began looking around for more cards until something caught my eye on a stand I was walking past. Moving closer to it, I got a clear image of what it was.

"No way! A Blue Eyes White Dragon!? My lucky day!" I said. I quickly took the Blue Eyes off of the stand and held onto it. It looked so cool in the card. I inspected it, the card seeming to glint under the store's overhead lights shining above me. I grinned, finally happy to know I was holding the card I always wanted.
