Emeli Elle Marsri

"Emeli come get your crap from the living room" my mom yelled. She is so annoying I swear, I'm walking down the chipped attic stairs and going down the other flight of stairs. "I was going to pick my things up, Alice fell asleep in the car I just put her down" I said. As I picked up my book bag. "Pick up these toys too" she added. "Their stuff is all over the place" she said. "Oh my god mom you're getting on my nerves stop complaining about every little thing, God knows I need to move out of here" I said. As I picked up Alice's toys. "Please do your 20 year's old living with your parents" she said. "I'm sorry I'm such a screw up that I have two kids without being married and that I'm living here but do we not remember I do go to really great school and I got a scholarship, I know my brother and sister didn't stay home when they went to college but then again they didn't have kids at the time, damn soon I'll be out your hair" I said as I went back to the attic and put my bag by my bed and put Alice's toys in the corner. Hate when my mom acts like I'm a bother because my dad doesn't even act like that. I go to school, I feed my kids with my money, I don't ask for anything, I have my own car, I do me it's just I live at home because my job doesn't pay enough and I can't seem to find a decent place to live. My baby daddy Marko he gets the girls every other weekend. He and I are a whole story. His family is filthy rich while mine is middle class. My parents are Armenian they came to the U.S to get a better education. His parents own an industry a music industry and his father plays a dangerous game of running a drug smuggling and prostitution. I don't mess with that side of his family I just act like I don't know. The court has it set up were I get a total of 4,000 dollars a month but a 1,000 a week so I just need to find a decent place to live with my girls.

"Mommy I want to do ballet" Nellie said. "Ballet, pumpkin mommy will see you know how busy I am" I said as I started folding the clean laundry I did this morning. "Okay" she said as she got up to throw out her trash. "Pumpkin do mommies a favor go make yourself a bath" I said. As I put Nellie and Alice's clothes in the drawer. "Okay" she said, I watched her has she walked to the bathroom area. "Bubbles" Nellie asked? "Sure I'll come put them in hold on" I said. As I finished folding the last pile. Then walked over to the little bath area. Reached on the top of the white shelf that's above the toilet and pour a cap full of bubble gum smelling bubbles. "Thank you" Nellie said. "You are very welcomed" I said. I walked back to the bedroom area and I see Alice waking up.

"Momma" she said. "Yes sugar" I said as I sat on the edge of the bed looking back at her. "Can I take a bath" she asked? "Nellie's taking one right now you'll take one after her" I said. As Alice stood on the bed and walked over to me. "Help me please" she said as she tugs on her zipper to indicate help. I unzipped her jacket. "There you go sugar" I said as I tickle her and give her kisses. "Who loves you the most" I asked? As I paused tickling her. "You do" she said. "That's right" I said then gave her more sugar. "Are we going over to daddies for the day" Alice asked? "Yes momma has class so you'll be with him" I said. "I don't want to go over their" Alice said. "Why not sugar, daddy wants to see you" I asked? "I know, but I want to be with you momma" she said as I'm holding her. "You'll be with Nellie it's only for the day I'm going to pick you up" I said. "Promise" Alice said as she put out her tiny tan pinky finger. I giggled. "Yes, I promise Alice" I said then tickled her again. "Nellie pumpkin time to get out" I said. As I put a towel on the toilet seat for her to get out. "Thank you" she said. I walk to my pink drawers and pull out a white t-shirt, black shorts and pink undies for Nellie to get dressed in. "lotion your skin Nellie" I said as I closed the drawer. "Should I drain the water" she asked? "Yes please" I said. "Alice, sugar what pj's are we wearing tonight" I asked? "Dora" she said. "Dora, okay" I said as I pull out her purple pajama set. "Okay sugar go get ready to take your bath" I said as I put lotion on the bed for Nellie. I put Alice in the tub and helped her as she washed up. Now I just have to get them to go to bed so I can work on my school work.

"Girls come on get in bed" I said. They stepped up on their blue stools to get onto the bed. Then I put the comforter on them. And turn on the AC. "okay you girl ate, washed up, brushed your teeth now time to sleep so momma can do her school work" I said as I turned off the lights. I walked over to my night stand and turned on the light. "Are we watching Disney Channel till we fall asleep" I asked? "Yes" they both said at the same time. "Good choice" I said as I put Disney on then put the remote down. "Sweet dreams" I said as I kissed them both good night.

It's about nine at night; I go down stairs to the kitchen table and do my homework. My dad walks in the room. "Emeli" he said. "Dad" I said. "What's wrong" he asked? Then he sat down with me. "Nothing I just need to get out this house I can't stand her your wife is driving me crazy" I said. "Emile you can stay here as long as you like you know that, I just want you to finish school maybe you can wait and finish school then move out after but not right now" he said. "I need my own little space, no one nagging me over stupid stuff, like I know I didn't follow the plans you guys had for me and you guys moved her with me to Connecticut but I did get into Yale I'm smart I am not even doing what I want I'm majoring in law I love music and art but I follow what you guys want. Maybe I should have stayed in LA seems everyone has flipped their lives for me. Marko moved out here to go to school and be near the girls" I said as I closed my laptop.

"Emeli sweetie your mother nags everyone it's her job, we still love you the same and are proud of you just relax everything is fine it's late go get some sleep" he said. "I have to write a paper but I will once I finish" I said. "Alright well have a good night" he said as he gave me a kiss on the forehead. Then went upstairs. I love my dad and when he talks he has a Middle Eastern Arabic influenced accent

. I finished my paper around 10 it's 2 in the morning now I had to study for a test I'm now slipping into bed with my girls.
