*daniel's p.o.v*

At Sasha's dorm we drank bottled chocolate milk (a gift from her friend who works at a dairy farm) and played Cards Against Humanity. Her roommate was out of town so she had the place to herself.

We told our own funny personal stories and really got to know each other. Through that we really  learned a lot. Coming from a family of nine, Sasha never really had any personal space or her own bedroom. Apparently her roommate complains about how 'small the room is'.

I also learned that her family never had much money so she didn't have many luxuries. To get to college she had to work long hours and get scholar ships. She is a brilliant person, but she says that she plays dumb to not be called a 'nerd'.

"When I was in high-school people called me a nerd and stuff like that." Sasha said. "I didn't have much. I wore my sisters old clothes, used old backpacks, stuff like that. The popular girls had designer clothes and always had manicures and trendy clothes. I guess I'm at the point where playing dumb equals popularity to me."

Putting a hand on her shoulder I said, "Sasha, you don't need to play dumb. You are an amazing and funny person. Be yourself. Get a guy to like you for you, not what you pretend to be. Any guy would be lucky to date you."

Sasha's eyes started to water so I pulled her in for a hug. "That was the nicest thing anyone has ever said." she whispered. As she cried I sat here being the shoulder to cry on. "But.. do you mean it?"

"I do." I said very quietly. Detaching herself from me, Sasha wiped her eyes and smiled at me. She got up to get some tissues so I pulled my phone out. It was seven in the evening. "Sasha, I have to go, Joey will be back soon. I had a great time, we need to do this again."

Shuffling over to me she hugged me and said, "Yeah, that would be nice. Bye Daniel." I realized how short she was when she hugged me. Her head barely reached my chest. "You're to tall."

As I left I said, "And you're to short." making her giggle as she shut the door. Thankfully I don't have much of a walk. Out of the windows I could see the lights outside coming on. There were lights under the doors, but they weren't noisy.

When I reached my dorm room it was dark and silent. I unlocked it and no one was there. Maybe Joey's running late, I thought. Kicking off my shoes I changed in to more comfortable clothes. Sitting on my bed, I leaned on the wall and scrolled through Instagram.

It started to get late and I was getting worried. Just as I was about to text Joey he opened the door. Dropping his backpack by the door, he flopped back on his bed. "How was your tutoring session?" I asked.

"It was great. Really helpful. Class was... exhausting so I think I'm going to bed." Joey said. I didn't answer him, just crawled under my covers. Listening I heard his movement and the bed and sheets rustle as he got in.

Reaching over, I shut my lamp off and closed my eyes. My sleep was restless, dreams of my fears. Those dreams turned in to nightmares and I sat up, breathing hard - like i had been running. Across the room Joey turned his lamp on, looking over at me.

"Are you okay?" Joey asked. I just shook my head. Moving aside, he pulled the sheets up and patted the bed. I got up and crawled in next to him. He put an arm around me and pulled me to his chest. We barely fit, but it worked.

For the rest of the night I had pleasant dreams, most of which were about Joey and I. A few times I almost rolled off the bed but Joey always pulled me back before I could. Sadly morning came, interrupting our sleep.

Carefully moving Joey's arm from around me I sat up. The clock read eight in the morning. Since it was obvious I wasn't sleeping again I decided to make my bed. Joey was still in bed, trying to stay awake.

"I'm gonna get coffee." I said to Joey. "Do you want any?" Groaning, Joey sat up. He ran a hand through his hair and yawned.

"Sure." he said.

"Ok." I said. Grabbing my keys I took the stairwell down to the first level. My car was parked by the stairs so I just decided to use them, instead of an elevator. Looking around my car, I realized it was a mess. I've gotta clean my car, I thought.

While backing out I compared the coffee shop on campus (which is really good), or going to Starbucks. Right now the roads would be packed with people going to work. The campus coffee shop was closer, so I decided on it.

Not many people were there but it was open. Before I went in I made sure I hadn't forgotten my wallet. At the moment I probably look awful, but it was early so that's my excuse. Inside, at the counter was a girl with green hair.

"What do you need?" she asked, leaning against the counter. It wasn't in a rude way, so it didn't bother me. Looking up at the menu I spotted what Joey gets, and instead of choosing what I usually get I got something different. She took the orders and I paid.

At the spot where I pick up the drinks I took my phone out and checked it. I thought I had heard it go off but I had no notifications. "What are you doing up so early? I usually don't get people until ten." the barista said.

"Just couldn't sleep." I said. Just as I was about to say something she slid the drinks to me. As I walked out I thanked her. In my car I set Joey's drink down but began to drink mine. The drive back to the dorms wasn't far, probably a minute.

Back at my dorm I knocked, hoping Joey was up to get the door. Thankfully he was, opening the door fully dressed and ready. "Thanks." he said, giving me a kiss on the cheek as he took his coffee. "I'll be gone for most of the day. I'll be setting up our date."

Falling back in to my office chair I sipped my coffee. "How long will it take?" I asked. Smiling, he said, "At sundown. You have time to kill." Pocketing his keys he (rather sarcastically) blew me a kiss.

The door was almost shut when I saw his phone on his bed. "Joey!" I yelled. He poked his head back in. "You're phone." I said, pointing to his bed. Quickly grabbing his phone he dashed out of the dorm.

A few minutes after he was gone I was bored, so I decided to pick out an outfit. Since I want to look good it'll take me a while. My process is laying out a bunch of outfits and then use a process of elimination.

I couldn't help but feel butterflies. There was no hint of where it would be or what it is whatsoever. With so much time to kill, I tried to imagine different things he would do.
