Knowing the date was going to be in the evening, I decided to choose something warmer. By time I had an outfit picked out it was two in the afternoon. My stomach grumbled and I realized I haven't eaten anything. Since I didn't want anything to get on my outfit, I set it aside I chose something different.

I didn't know where to go and I didn't want to go alone so I called Sasha. Fortunately she wasn't busy and would go. Tucking my phone and wallet in my back pocket I took one last look at the dorm. I don't like leaving a mess behind.

Sasha and I met at the doors to the dormitory. "Where should we go?" I asked. All I got was a shrug from Sasha. I leaned against the wall, thinking. "How does Panera sound?" I asked.

"Sure." Sasha said. "I'm driving!" she yelled as she ran for the parking lot. Running alongside her wasn't hard, she wasn't very fast. Stopping at a burgundy car, Sasha stopped to catch her breath. Clicking the unlock button, Sasha sat behind the wheel. I walked around the car and got in to the passenger side. It was so low I had to move slowly or I would hit my head. The seat was all the way back, giving me just enough leg room.

Leaning forward, Sasha turned the radio on. 24K Magic came on the radio and she turned it up. Both of us sang along, belting out the lyrics. "Sasha, you're an amazing singer." I said. She blushed slightly and said,

"I'm not." Sasha said quietly. "But thank you."

"I'm not lying." I said. For the next few minutes the radio played in the background and we stayed quiet. When we reached Panera, Sasha lowered the radio volume slightly and turned the car off.

We walked in, taking place at the back of the line. "You can go in front of me." I said, motioning for Sasha to go ahead. Giving me a smile she thanked me.  For how long the line was it went fast.

Taking a booth, we put our numbers on the table and waited. "So, where's Joey?" Sasha asked me.

"He's setting up our date." I said. "Long story short, something happened at a party and I got him back home."

Folding her hands on the table, Sasha leaned forward. "Can you tell me this story?" she asked, interested. Sighing, I agreed and told her the story. Half-way through our food came so I finished the story between bites. "Wow. So this date is to make up for that?"

"You are correct." I said. Sasha finished up her tea and we left. "Let's hang out in your dorm." Agreeing with me, we went back to campus. Some people were walking around, but I was guessing most stayed in.

At Sasha's house, we watched Youtube videos until four. "I should probably go back and get ready." I said, standing up.

"Have a fun, but not to much." Sasha said, winking. "Now shoo, go get ready." Pushing me out, she closed the door. I began the walk to my dorm, looking around. At my door I unlocked it, looking in to see if Joey was there. It was empty, looking like it hadn't been touched since I left.

When I pulled my shirt over my head I noticed a note on Joey's bed. That's odd, I thought. Walking over to his bed, I picked it up. The note read,

Meet me at the edge of the parking lot at six.

p.s. I stole your car keys

Setting the note down I looked at the hooks and saw that my car keys were gone. Looking at the clock I saw I had an hour to get finished. I quickly fixed my hair then grabbed my phone and left the dorm.

The elevator would take to long so I took the stairs. A few times I almost tripped, but regained my balance. Where the stairs ended was dark, the only light was from the door. Pushing the door open I was met by a cool wind, nearly messing my hair up.

It wasn't a long walk to the meeting sight, but it was a bit windy. Hopefully it will stop for the date. Saying a small prayer for the winds to stop, I scanned the lot for Joey. My phone clock read six, but he wasn't here. I didn't expect Joey to me on time, but five minutes passed and he still wasn't there.

I was about to turn around and go back to my dorm but Joey finally showed up, honking the horn. Like a gentleman, he got out and opened my door for me. "You were-" I started but he cut me off.

"Late, I know. I ran a bit behind schedule because of the wind." Joey said. "But that isn't gonna make it any less special." Reaching forward, I put the radio on low then sat  back. There was a silence in the car - not an awkward silence, a sort of calming silence.

About ten minutes in to the car ride, Joey pulled over to the side and turned to me. "Since I don't want you getting any ideas of where we will be, put this on." Joey said and handed me a sleeping mask. "Sorry, that's all I had. This may seem a bit weird but I don't want any spoilers."

Complying, I put it on. All light was gone, leaving me to get my surroundings through noises. We passed noises of water, then noises of tires over gravel then the car stopped. I heard a door open and close, then I felt my door open. Joey took my arm and helped me out. "Don't worry, I'll lead you." he said.

We began to walk and I could hear the crunch of gravel under my feet. "You're not gonna murder me, are you?" I asked. Joey laughed, lightly squeezing my arm.

"I would never do that. You're to cute to get rid of." Joey said, giving me a kiss on the cheek. I was still a little uneasy because I couldn't see, but I trust Joey. We began to go uphill. Another few minutes passed, then we stopped. "Ready?"

"Yes." I said. Joey slid the sleeping mask off and I had to blink a few times to get used to the light. When I could see, I looked in front of me. There was a blanket on the ground, weighted by four big rocks. In a little basket there was some food and next to it some drinks in ice. In the middle of the blanket were flowers.

"I hope this makes up for what happened." Joey said quietly. I turned around to him and put my arms around his neck, pulling him to me. Looking from his lips, to his eyes, and back to his lips we closed the gap between us. The kiss was short and sweet, perfect for the moment. I kept my arms around his neck and Joey kept his hands at my waist, forehead to forehead.

"It's perfect." I said. It really was perfect and I have a feeling it will be even more perfect as the night goes on.
