Lola's POV

" Dear , here's your lasagne, " the maid , whose age I assumed to be in her 40's said kindly . Slowly giving a thank you in reply , I let my eyes wander off to the dinning room I was in right now . Well, what more words do I need to speak about Cavarian's home . The dinning room was surprisingly very modern unlike the rest of the house which had a mixed genre .

"Hello Lacey , I hope you're going to take a bite out of the food instead of just staring at it ?," I heard Cavarian's voice boom . Oh my ... I guess I had been staring too long .
Well , staring would be an understatement as I was practically gaping at the splendid interiors . Every inch of the room screams " Money , Money , Money " right in my face and I was very sure that even the chair I was sitting on is worth more than my annual income . Typical of the richies ,right ?

"Lacey ? ," I heard him call out again .
"Yes ,um.... Sir ?," I answered in a small voice .
"Say, what have you been oogling your eyes at ? Omit the sir part though . I thought we went over that discussion," Cavarian said .
The word oogling made me a bit embarrassed to be honest but I put on a neutral frame and went on with an answer ," The interiors ,uh.... I guess I've gotta call you Cavarian so.... Uh... where was I oh ! The interiors are really amusing to be honest . It really fits into the rich demeanour of your house ."

"Rich demeanour ? Well it's kind of the first time I've heard of that . Then again , you're the first girl ever here so what would I know ?," he said taking a bite out of his lasagne. I immediately look up to his face . First girl ever here ? Did I just hear that right ? I'm the lucky girl who got to see a peep of this wonder house ?

"Have I got something on my face ?," he asked out of the blue .
"Um.... no . Why ?"
"Well , you seemed like you could've burnt a hole through my face out there ."

Have you ever heard of the word embarrassing ? Well that's exactly how I feel right now . I felt myself flush . Lola The Oogler . Nah it doesn't rhyme or does it ?
"Uh...um.... sorry . I guess I'm becoming prone to being a staring artist ?," I said whatever came to mind at the moment . It kind of felt like I was asking myself . Really ? As I memorise and recite the sentence again ,I found it really doesn't make sense. Ahaha great ! I feel like I'm going a little crazy today . Like I lost my balls . Wait.... that didn't quiet sound right .

Just then he laughed . Well not really the laughter itself but he chuckled . A deep chuckle that is quiet the heart warmer .
"You're amusing ," said Cavarian while looking at me like I was an extravagant piece of art . Extravagant ? Pfft... more like someone who came from the dumpster's humble abode . Yeah..... note the sarcasm .
"Well I guess I actually am ," I replied with a blush .

Then bursting past this calm conversation howls ...very loud howls came through .
Howls ? I though only wolves did that ...A shivering came upon my body as I recalled my supposed so called dream . No.... There was no such thing as a wolf-man and I'm sure Cavarian assured that these lands were wolf free . Maybe some dog did it ? Or it could've just been my imagination which I'm very sure has a range as wide as the Arctic Ocean .

Seemed like curiosity was a hereditary thing and just as I opened my mouth to ask him if he heard the howls too,some men I didn't know about came rushing into the room and talked in a hushed but rushed tone with Cavarian . As they exchanged knowing glances ,I got a feeling in the gut , an intuition I guess , that something was very wrong . But I just couldn't place NY finger as to what .

"Lacey , eat as fast as you can ," Cavarian said . Curiosity coursed through my veins like wildfire and I asked ,"Do u really need to like finish it all right now ?"
"Yes , indeed you do .Lacey it's getting late and I heard a lady needs her beauty sleep ,I heard ?," was his reply .

I eyed him curiously . Beauty sleep ,huh ? I was not quite yet convinced that some beauty sleep excuse could explain his wanting of me to go gobble up my food .
"Really ?," I asked as I eyed my food and piercing my fork through the lasagne . Just as I took in the pieces of food one after another , I swear I would've been swayed from my feet because of the taste ,given I did not have this unsettling feeling in my tummy.

Just as I began seeping my juice , he opened his mouth ,"Really. Now finish up and go straight to my room and sleep ."
I nodded absent mindedly at his order . But when the words
go straight to my room and sleep replayed, I realised the weight of the words . Seemingly and stupidly enough , I began choking on my juice and my eyes went wide ,"Excuse me ?" I finally chocked out ," I thought you had a guestroom sir ."

"Well , these two men here are gonna occupy that so unless you want to spend a night with them , I hope you wouldn't mind sleeping in my room ?," he finished. I only gaped and realised that I literally had no other option . Only nodding my head ,I  finished my share of food quickly .
 

Cavarian had brought me back to his room and I literally asked him if I could sleep on the couch to which he said no and informed me that he wouldn't be home this night which eased a bit I my insecurities . "Wait till the whole hospital finds out , wait till all those false rumours spread " my ever conscious mind screamed and I internally groaned . Although my life was not some movie I knew that I'd be in a mess if anyone decided to turn this simple stay into a 5star rated affair ....ewww..

The maid from earlier had come up and given me a night dress . And I , who didn't have anything to do decided to pee .So here I was in a five-star toilet that was as big as my house . Hah! How I knew where it was ? I asked the maid puff.... As simple as that .

Finally my idiotic self finished spilling all my litter and I walked up the stairs  eager to get my um ..beauty sleep. But I clearly do not understand why I   looked through the large glass window just opposite to Cavarian's door . But ,I swear that I saw a huge wolf looking at my direction at a distance in the evening that was getting dark .

And what I saw later may haunt me for life for the wolf cracked bones and ribs and the black wolf , turned into a man with skin and very much not having a proper attire on ..... At least that much I saw , before dark spots filled into my vision due to an overloading  brain .

Cavarian ...... You liar... My mind whispered .
