Cavarian's POV :

Gary kept shouting over the phone that urgent work had come up and that my presence was highly required .
I had just been about to go into the woods when he called me .

Wondering what the issue was , I put on a black silk jacket and went to the cafe we usually met .
I had been sitting in the outdoor balcony for about 5 minutes , when a familiar scent of honey chocolate hit my senses .

I could by now guess that Gary was here with Ms. Evangeline. Why she was here was out of my wonders. Sniffing the air , which was obviously filled with her scent , I froze on my seat as my mind was right now comprehending the chances that this could be one of  Gary's test setups . I was irritated by my friend's tricks . Of course he must've took notice .

She sat on the seat across mine , as instructed by Gary . What he was up to ? I didn't have an idea about it .

When Gary addressed her by her first name ,for some unknown reason ,it somewhat irritated me .
Letting out a low whimper , I slumped back into my seat .

"You're acting like a child," my wolf whispered in the back of my head .

Ordering the damn cappuccino thingy proved to be a bit disastrous though . It felt like the bastard was pushing me to the limits and by then , I was sure of my earlier doubt became clear as day .

From the morning I inhaled her scent , he took notice and I knew Gary had suspicions too . This morning when I first met Ms.Evangeline, I was , even to myself, acting weird .
Her scent held something I had yearned for years - homeliness , warm , cozy , comforting , loving , sweet , addicting . Despite all this pleasures hitting me all at once , I pulled my usual demenour, which Gary once described as scary , arrogant , rude ,etc. ,etc. I had. Although my wolf hinted a something , I decided to push it at the back of my mind and focus on the work at hand .' She's just an employee with a nice scent ' was my excuse . But then , when I heard Gary call her by her first name and announced that they had already met , it irritated me further . I knew what he was doing , he was testing me to see if Hus suspicions bared him some fruit .
My wolf was scratching the back of my mind with subconscious thoughts which I was not very sure of  and as wolf instinct , yet another whimper came out .

Gary had asked me if I feel a pull towards Ms. Evangeline and if she was my mate , but I denied it .
More like I denied myself. I didn't know for sure . I thought maybe I was sort of imagining things or I was just falling apart and urged myself to get it together . Maybe because I haven't in a relationship , maybe that's why , but she sure had a nice scent .

And then , as I saw Gary and Ms. Evangeline laugh and openly share opinions and laugh together and calling their first names , I became even more pricked at my temper and threw disapproving looks at Gary, which he just shrugged off. Yes , my best friend and I get the hunch he likes yo irritate me very much .

And when he addressed her again by her first name , yet again , hinting the important work we came here for ,
I became irritated at him and threw him a scowl and straight face . He was wasting my time with a TEST ! God . He even lied about a work which probably wasn't even existent .
But when Ms. Evangeline cut in saying ," Your superiors ,"looking at me with a disturbed face which held a tint of anger , I was confused at first . Then beginning to think about it , it hit me fast . She thinks I was ...... Oh God . My wolf face palmed at the back of my head and said along the lines of something like 'told ya' . Yeah² right .
