"Thank you" I said to the bored looking worker and received my café. Afterwards I sat down on my table in the small coffee shop again consecrating myself to the work I still had to do. After the guy who came into my room was gone my fingers itched to practice magic, it was like he turned on a switch at me and all of a sudden I just needed to use that light that was pumping through my veins. I even practiced certain things at home.

Seeing how everyone else was dedicated to their work I had to try it, even if it was risky because everyone could see it.I quickly rescanned the room but no one was looking at me, so I lifted up my index finger a bit, concentrating on the object I wanted to move and with a small gesture my pen quickly flew from the table into my hands. I smirked, looking around the room for a third time but that smile swiftly vanished away when I saw a girl staring at me, her eyes popped, her mouth wide open.

"No, no, no, no" I whispered, my voice croaky.I exhaled shakily and stood up walking towards the girl who was still gaping at me and pulled her towards the girls' toilets. "How did you do that? No, what exactly are you?" her tremulous voice echoed off the walls.I cursed myself in my thoughts for being so lightheaded and doing magic in public. What had I gotten myself into? I scratched the corner of my lips before coming to a conclusion that what I was going to do now was very risky, that I could even not be able to do it but I had to try. I had to burn her memory of me. I don't know how I came to the thought that this was something doable or even possible but I had to try.I took deep breaths and told the girl to calm down though that didn't really help her. Going through every toilet booth I checked if there was someone.Suddenly my breaths started to hitch, my heartbeat picking up as I devoted myself completely on what I was going to do.I lifted my trembling hand and closed my eyes for a second. The moment I opened them, there was a speck of light radiating off my outstretched hands and bolting into her direction. The girl dropped to her knees, holding onto her head. Her face was pale though she didn't seem hurt. Her eyes dropped close and when she opened them again the moment was over.I went to her and kneeled down beside her.

"Are you okay?" I asked touching her shoulder lightly."What happened?" she demanded in her small voice." How did I even get here? I was standing in the-"I interrupted her, clearly relieved that she didn't remember."Oh, I just came to wash my hands and saw you here, thought that you looked a bit pale. You must have been daydreaming" I smiled reassuringly and straightened, helping her to stand up.

"Well, thank you." She drifted off, still looking puzzled. I sighed when she was gone and leaned against the cold wall of the bathroom.'This could have gone wrong', I thought while going through my hair.Just as I was about to go back into the coffee shop and continue doing my work a guy went in, closing the door behind him.

"Sorry, I think you're wrong, this is the girls' toilets, the boy- ", my eyes went wide, my eyebrows shooting up.This was the strange guy who came into my room in the middle of the night, the guy who never showed himself after that! "That was dangerous! You could have burned her whole brain! But how did you do that? You must have- "he trailed off, his eyes darting off and looking through the room, lost in thought.

"Hello, I'm still here. What do I might have?" I questioned him. I cursed myself again in my thoughts for not closing the door."Only good fairys can do that, only powerful fairys can influence the brain too. You have the power of the fire and the light, so the lightning too but that doesn't mean you can do everything with it. For doing what you just did you have to be one of the higher degrees and that is not possible.

"Why is it not possible? The power of lightning? Does that mean I can just shoot little shots of lightning across the room?" I asked, my voice was filled with curiosity, I wanted ot know everything about what he was talking about, every single detail."Yeah, no, don't try it, you could burn the wall down with that...and just because." He sighed shakily before adding more to what he said."There is a fairy and there is a power assigned to every one of us. The power mostly has to do with the character... well, with the character and with the person all in all, their will power, their vision of life and so on. Also, there is a person, another fairy who has similar powers or even the same ones. For example, one has the power of earth, can let flowers bloom and can do magic with the nature. There's always, always another fairy who can do that too and he's called the socius. Not everyone knows their socius but those who do are either really close friends or lovers. They're destined to be together, in any way possible. They are the only fairys who really understand each other." There was a strained silence, a time for me to take in the words he said. I was a fairy. A good one at that.

"And the reason why you're telling me this is....?" I questioned. him, trying to break the awkward silence and see through his façade. His unstable outtake of breath was the only thing hearable before he spoke up again."I'm yours" he said.

"What?" I said confused.

"I'm your socius."

My eyes slowly darted to the floor, the tension in my body wavering off. I slid down the wall I was leaning on. After processing what he had said I looked up at him again."So basically, what you're saying right now is: I'm tied to you?"He pressed his lips together after giving me a faint nod.
