Hannah's POV
I smiled as I helped Adam into the back seat of my sports car. He was actually quite amazed by it. I guess it's every little boys dream.
Roman sat in the passenger seat while I placed all the picnic items in the back. Both of them seemed quite excited for today, and likely for different reasons.
I drove out of the garage, down the driveway, and onto the cold frosty road. The heater kicked on with a soft groan. Not even the car wanted to work in this kind of weather.
I parked in the parking lot of the small park. It may be night, but there were plenty of kids willing to play, even a few, well controlled vampire children were there.
Adam happily slipped out of the seat and went running over to the playground, joining the other children in their games. Roman and I set up the blanket and worked on making the sandwiches together. I carefully cut the crust for Adams sandwich, knowing that most kids don't enjoy that part.
Roman and I quietly laid on the blanket for a while, staring up at the night sky, enjoying the beauty. I cuddled in his comfortable arms. He was amazing...
About an hour passed by the time Adam had returned to us. He plopped down on the blanket, seeming tired from all the running. Roman sat up before I had the chance and handed the child his sandwich, followed by a small juice bottle.
The child eagerly ate as he watched a few of the vampire children race around, seeming to be in awe at their speed. They tripped and tormented each other as normal children would, laughing at each other but not getting angry. Children were angels at that age, even the demons.
"I'm ready" I heard Adams soft voice.
"You sure sweetie?" I smiled softly at the child and hugged him to me as roman cleaned up.
"Yup. I'm sure" I could feel he was a bit tense and shaken, but his voice was brave.
"Alright" I softly smiled and watched Roman move, creating a small space for the child so he could get comfortable.
I gently laid Adam on the blanket, feeling him tense up a little more for a moment, but quickly and suprisingly relaxing. He was definitely more brave than me.
"You sure you are ready?" Roman smiled a soft smile at the child, letting him see his sharp fangs.
"Yes" he closed his eyes.
