I roared as the pain rushed over me, I could feel my veins boiling with the blood of god knows what. I struggled in my restraints.
"You have to go through this, Ashley" I heard the doctor say through my growling. Before I knew it my my body becoming calm. I still could feel my veins throbbing and my head was slick with sweat. I gasped for breath and I realised the doctor was letting me out of my restraints. I sat up and calmed my breathing.I looked at my arms. My veins were black with my Hybrid blood. The doctor handed me a mirror. I saw golden yellow eyes staring back at me. They faded after a few seconds.
"You get the eyes from the wolf in you, which makes up half of your DNA" the doctor explained. I moved off the bed slowly.
"What else will be enhanced?" I asked as I stood up without fail.
"Sight, hearing, smell, speed, touch" the doctor said leading me out of the room and down the hall to a meeting room. There were a range of different people there, some had lab coats on: scientists, and so had combat armour on, with pistols at their sides: soldiers. Doctor Andrews motioned for me to sit down in a black leather swivel chair. I did as I was told.
"Your DNA, consists of multiple organisms..." another doctor spoke up, I looked up at him but wrong, he was a solider.
"Wolf, bear, shark, snake, leopard, rhino, chameleon, crocodile and...the rest..is classified" the soldier finished. I scoffed.
"Classified my ass, what have you guys got to hide" I spat. The solider walked up to me.
"Watch your tongue New Blood, you are the solution to this war, the machines these terrorists have cannot compare to what you will be able to do" the solider said sternly.
"And for the record, none of us know what's in you, so for all we know they created a monster only willing to kill for itself" the solider finished.
"Ashley, this is Lieutenant Adrian Solomon" Doctor Andrews spoke up from behind me after a few moments.
"He will be your mentor" Andrews finished. I studied the lieutenant's face. I realised he looked younger than I first anticipated. He was African-American and his dark skin looked smooth, he had hazel eyes and his hair was black that led into a styled dark blonde. He actually looked pretty hot for a man of war. But I could also tell he had seen a lot of death, I could tell by the despair in his eyes.
Solomon returned to his position across the room, and continued explaining my new abilities.
"Your shark DNA will allow you to use thermal vision and you can also sense heartbeats around you, which also allow you to sense emotions as well" Solomon said, I nodded in understanding.
"Snake will make you detect enemies by vibrations on the ground, Chameleon will help you camouflage, Rhino will make your skin close to impenetrable, croc to make you more agile in the water, an unknown breed of fish to make you breathe underwater and bear increase your warmth, allow you to smell below the surface and enable you to survive off a minimal food supply and finally owl, to increase your vision and allow you to see in the dark " Solomon exhaled as he finished."What about wolf?" I asked curiously.
"The wolf, will increase your predatory instincts, make you more agile and will make you more...attractive" Solomon finished. I rose my eyebrows. Lucky me.
"We start training tomorrow" Solomon finished and the meeting was adjourned.
