"What the hell is going on" I demanded, once I had gotten my bearings.
"No need to swear, young lady" the man said. I sighed and ran a hand through my brown hair.
"I'm Doctor Andrews and I'm in charge of the B.O.G.H.R.P" he said.
"What the hell is that" I demanded. Doctor Andrews sighed.
"It stands for Black Ops Genetic Hybrid Research Program" the doctor explained.
"Why am I here?" I asked.
"Ashley...your blood is special, very special, and a lot of people were looking for blood like yours" the doctor started. I looked at him expectantly.
"Ashley, you have the potential to become a genetically engineered hybrid" the doctor finished. What the hell was he on, he can't do this.
"So you're telling me that the reason you took me away from my family, is to use me as a weapon?" I asked standing up slowly."Yes, that is what I am telling you" Doctor Andrews said.
"Why?" I asked, sitting back down.
"Ashley, America is war torn, and you've been lucky to live in one of the safest parts of he country, but when your father enlisted in the army, your whole family needed to have a series of tests, and in these tests, we found that your blood had the potential to be...changed" Andrews explained.
"Go on" I said gesturing towards him.
"And so we began a program, searching for people with the same blood as yours, but you were the only we we could find" the doctor continued.
"Why start this program though" I questioned.
"We have used machines for decades, Ashley, but at the end of the day, after all that had happened, in Singapore and countless other countries, one factor remains" the doctor said, referring to the tsunami in Singapore.
"Nature always ends up winning" he finished. I swallowed hard, what had I gotten into.
"We want a weapon that can fight, without being trained or programmed, we want a weapon who can kill and fight on instinct, we want a weapon that can do things that aren't humanly possible" he continued.
"And you want me to do that" I asked, disbelievingly. The doctor nodded.
"It's not we want you to fight for us, it's that you need to" Doctor Andrews spoke carefully.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean" I yelled throwing my arms up in the air to make my point.
"Ashley, your father made a deal with us, he was instructed to find others like you and he promised us that if he didn't find another Potential Hybrid, by the time you were 17, he would allow us to use you" the doctor explained, clearly getting frustrated with my resistance. Why would he do that? How could he do that? I buried my face in my arms on the table, tears threatening to fall.
"It's his duty, Ashley, and he committed to it, but I promise you he did this out of the goodness of his heart" Andrews said more calmly.
My head flew up, my cheeks now stained with my tears.
"How is this out of the goodness of his heart!" I screamed.
"You can help save so many people, you can help fight against those terrorists, that are a threat to your family!" Andrews yelled. I exhaled shakily and put my head in my hands sobbing furiously.
"Grayson is good friend of mine, he wanted me to help you get through this, because he knew that I could help you better than he can" the doctor continued calmly, mentioning my father's name.
"He wanted you to follow in his footsteps, since day one he knew that you were born to protect" Andrews finished. I waited a few moments, calming myself. I finally sat up and wiped my eyes with my sleeve. I didn't say it for me or for the Black Ops but I said for my father.
"Fine...I'll become your ultimate weapon"
