The last bell rang so I got up from my seat and walked to my locker. When I opened it to get my things a bunch of notes fell out of it. I picked them up and put them in my bag to read when I got home. I wasn't going to read them in school and sit there waiting for someone to come along and start to hit me. When I had all my things I hurried out of the school and over to the woods. I looked over to a tree and saw Toby sitting there. I looked down at my phone to see if my parents wanted anything special for dinner.

"Go home right after school and get started on dinner we are having some of my friends from work over and I want everything to be perfect" my mom texted me.

"Okay" I replied to her.

I walked over to the foot path when Toby ran up to me. I looked at him running towards me but I just kept walking. When I got onto the foot path I hid behind a tree hoping that he wouldn't see me.

"Why are you hiding," he asked me, "I'm not gonna hurt you,".

I flinched, "Right sorry I wasn't sure if you were with Bella and her friends or not,".

He scrunched his nose, "after helping you when they were beating you and you think I'm with them? Shows how much you know about people,".

I looked down and started to walk away. He stood leaning agents the tree stunned. I was about ten feet away from where we were when he ran to catch up with me. I just kept my head down and kept walking.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you," he said.

I just kept walking with my head down. When I got to my "hideout" I went and got my bike. I got on it and adjusted my book bag so that it wouldn't get in my way while I was riding my bike.

"Why don't you just ride it all the way to school," Toby asked me.

"Because someone will destroy it," I told him.

"Oh," he said.

"Ya well I have to get home or my mom and dad will be-" I stopped myself.

"What," he said looking at me with a worried expression.

"They will be mad at me," I said.

I got on my bike and rode away without another word. I just left Toby sitting there. I almost slipped up and could have gotten locked in the basement for a few days again. I rode home as fast as I could. When I got home I put my bike on the edge of the woods like I always did and walked into the house. When I got in I got a text from my mom.

"The house better be clean and dinner done by six. You also have to be in that dress I got you a while ago. If that doesn't fit you anymore then go into my room and get one of my dresses out. You better have a sweater and some makeup to hide everything. If they see anything you better say you were beat up in school." my mom said.

"Okay" I replied.

"You better not be giving me any attitude or I swear you will wish you were dead by the time that I'm done with you," she said.

"I'm sorry if it came out like that," I said.

I put all my things in my room and went to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and found the ham. I put that in the oven and made some other things. While everything was cooking I started to clean the kitchen. Then I moved to the dining room then I went to the living room, bathroom, hallway, and then every where else. The timer rang and I went and checked on the ham. It was done. After that I went to my room. I decided I was going to put the ham back in the oven to heat it up about 30 minuets before mom got home. I sat at my desk with a (F/C) lamp on it. I threw my book bag across the room. Then everyone came for dinner. After I cleaned up I went up to my room after I said goodnight to everyone. I laid on my bed and drifted off into the darkness.
